I have to say that your fans at the BB game against Texas on Tuesday are PATHETIC!!!!

First off they finished off the National Anthem by saying "Home of the Sooners" that is pretty damn stupid.

Your fans cared more about getting on the stadium big screen, first thing they did was go horns down. 99% of the people they showed went horns down. Even the kids, is that what you teach them right when they come out.

Maybe you guys should show up and actually pull for your team instead of going just to hate on the other team....LOSERS!!!

Perhaps you should let it be, the Sooners just aren't that good this year. Their fans are like the fans here. If the team is good or playing a good team they will show up for every other team the erwin center is a morgue. They don't call it the hum drum for nothing.

As for the horns down you expected anything different? It is OU our biggest rival and the game was at their place. I would have been shocked not to see the horns down.

The Horns down is their hand signal. I view it as a compliment. Their attendance at that game was unusually pathetic though.

Very Classy

Well I am here to defend the Sooners. The game was on Valentine's Day and I am sure most OU fans were spending a romantic night in the trailer with their sister. As far as the National Anthem thing, yeah it is pretty stupid, but anyone that is willing to live in a red dirt covered tornado magnet like Oklahoma should be considered "brave".

I got your back Sooners.

First, there's a very simple solution to your personal problem: If you don't like it don't go or don't watch. Second, yea, I can see you getting all bent out of shape with the horns down issue. I mean, it's not like pretty much all the horn fans prefer to say a certain chant about the Sooners at the end of their fight song. Even the kids, is that what you teach them right when they come out??? Last, so you're telling all of us there was no cheering for our team, rather, just hating on texas?? Is that what you're claiming or are you just being the internet tough guy again?? Sure looks like you are because that's what you said.

...then, in the very same thread, Fizz proceeds to cry like a pansy, just because somebody on a Texas board dares to call a Sooner team with 3-10 conference record "garbage." Good stuff. laugh

From the 'New Commitment' thread:

A) Yes, you're the perfect arbiter of what's classy, Fizz.

B) You're obviously not overaly sensitive at all looking at this thread.

The National Anthem is for respect.

I'm 100% Texan and I remind all of my Okie friends that people fought and died for Texas.

Oklahoma had to be given away. If what is now Oklahoma was worth fighting for it would be now known as North Texas.

Of course you passed right over the Home of the Sooners line...that's probably because you're one of the MORONS that say it. The rest of that was just something that was odd. I will go every time Texas plays there as long as I live in this trailer park trash state. Did your daddy soonertoolsun say you could post over here.

Okay. How about the mass exodus by Longhorn fans in the 2nd half of the RRR? Didn't care to stay and support the team win or lose? I have never seen fans of either team leave the way the Longhorns did last year. And I have no problem with this, nor do I have any issues with Sooners support of the basketball team. This means we're human. I worry about those fans that stay until the end even if their team is getting blown out because they think the players will appreciate it. Those guys are rather cultish. And news flash, players would rather have you leave early than to stay and watch the carnage at blowout games.

True, but your fans weren't even there at the beginning of this game, Pearland. I can't recall seeing a more empty stadium in the history of conference play. And it was UT/OU.

Let me clarify so you morons can get the picture. The building was about 3/4 full which was a good turnout for the game. What I was saying is why don't you morons show up and root for your team instead of showing up just to hate on the other team.

"How about the mass exodus by Longhorn fans in the 2nd half of the RRR?"

Stupid comparison, do I really need to explain why? You almost explained it yourself, but if you need more help let me know. Just say your fans were garbage for the Texas/ou game(which is pathetic)and keep it pushing.

And you would be wrong with that assumption. Nor do I purchase the logos and turn them upside down, or flash "the sign". I don't dissuade others from doing it, rather, it's just not for me.

Why do Texas posters on this board also refer to other fans as rednecks, inbreds, and make incest jokes? Have you ever seen the state of Texas? The cows outnumber the people, half the people you do have walk around in cowboy hats and cowboy boots, and your school mascot is even a cow

The Texas/OU game in 2005 says hi.

The home of the Sooners is stupid, I think most level headed OU fans agree.

As far as us talking about OU in our fight song, that's more of a student thing and only happens when we're playing you. You guys were playing FSU for the title and half your fan base was doing the Horns down.

bitching because those wippersnappers didnt sing the song right and they were disrespectful to the opponent too!!! They made a horns down sign? Seriously are you new to this rivalry? Disrespect is the norm on both sides.

Luckily I was able to move out of that backwards fundamentalist republic you live in last year. Had to live in Abilene for 2 years and I seriously would rather live in an area controlled by the Taliban.

People seem to have the bad comparison between the RRR football game and a home basketball game covered. I'll just respond to the italicized/underlined part and say... the reason you haven't seen a mass exodus like that is because you sit on the Sooner side and have probably been part of the exodus on the years you guys have done it. Trust me, Longhorn fans who go to the RRR have seen "a mass exodus like that" as they have looked across the Cotton Bowl stadium.

Its a free country, you sing the anthem your way and I will sing it mine. Actually people fought and died for Oklahoma, they are called "Native Americans". The fact that you didn't know this and also missed the fact that if your silly state was worth keeping it would be called "North Mexico". In the end the Mexicans didnt feel it was worth the effort.

I dont know what a steer fan expects to see at a game in Norman but I think he is a little sensitive. I havent had a chance to compare have seen quite a few inverted steer heads on the vehicles in Oklahoma and I saw only 1 inverted OU emblem in Texas so you may be right.

What's funny is that guy was probably a history major at OU. First of all we understand it is a free country; however, it just sounds juvenile to add your little "sooner" in there at the end. If it means so much to you, come up with a state athem. I mean you do understand that a Sooner is someone that cheated their friends out of land, which makes it even more silly to substitute it for brave.

Secondly, native americans fought and died for every state in the union; it was not just an Oklahoma thing. In fact what really pissed the native americans off is when the US government tried to force them to be relegated to that hell hole.

Finally, yeah the Mexican army surrendered because they didn't feel it was worth it...maybe this because of the crappy neighbors to the north.

You know Rolf, I've never really thought of it that way. But, you're right. If Santa Anna really thought it was worth it, he could have come right back and taken it quite easily, provided he wasn't as stupid and arrogant as the first time. There was little the Texicans could have done about it if he really thought it was worth the effort.

And for the maroon who wants to denigrate Oklahoma because no one fought and died for it...news flash sparky... there was no one there to fight for it! The run of '89 was into unassigned lands. In other words, it belonged to no one except the federal government.

Sorry I'm back late to the pissing contest. Had a funeral to attend. I have no problem with the term "your team's record is garbage". Just don't like the term "your team is garbage". They are just kids.

Get used to it this happens every off season, of course it has the master of disaster leading the pack, Scholz says high. He loves to hate all things Sooner no matter what the Sooner does. That's ok Sooners love to hate UT, so it washes out. You know my toy is better than your toy stuff he spews. Makes you wonder why they allow 11 year olds Internet access.

You guys sure have a funny way of showing your disdain for this state, you know, since you all love to live here so much. Perhaps you should ask Joe or Pearlandsooner what they think of Texas.. And I personally love that y'all say "home of the sooners", I feel like that allows the rest of the country to see what classless, paint-huffing morons you all are.

And next time, joe Dirt, combine your schizophrenic, idiotic thoughts into one single post.

Honestly, who needs to watch college basketball when the NBA is alive and kicking right now. Most Sooner fans are obviously Thunder fans...and it's no surprise that with the Thunder having the best record in the league, they are the more appealing team to watch in the great state of Oklahoma.
