Some more Texags gems

Apparently the family "did not care for the way they handled the firing of mike Sherman"

They being our admin

It gets "better"...

"Another major determining factor in his decision was a Degree from the University of Texas. Jake grew up in Dallas, Texas and attends Dallas Jesuit College Preparatory and education is very important in his life. Jesuit taught him how to balance a full academic load while also participating in athletics and community service. Jake believes the University of Texas will be a great extension for his academic future."

PLEASE

He wants to join "the winning tradition in Austin"

Winning what? 5-7

All-American SEC WRs aren't worried about academics. We can do better than Jake. Actually, we have already with Griffin - even if he does end up at TE. How many solid WRs are Caucasian these days anyway? He ain't Jordy Nelson. Get real cliff jumpers.

Even if he committed to A&M, I wouldn't be terribly excited because he's more into academics and plays private school ball.

Oliver is a hell of a pick up for the Horns. He will definitely see the field his freshman year. Two huge recruits so far for UT.

Yep, just watched a bit ago. He is a great blocker. Never quits on his assignments.

So, I guess that answers your question, fizzy

More texags lunacy. Some of those people are literally certifiable. Their extended lack of football success has really caused them to lose their minds.

"Tsk tsk. Dad really screwed that one up. Way to fail your son, professionally and personally."

"Poor parenting."

"Only drama here is a legacy going to t.u. We didn't need this kid that badly. Great hands but slow (4.6-4.7). Could have used his hands but we have too many fast guys that would have played ahead of him."

Yeah, based on this offer list, he's overrated.

Mississippi State

Just garbage human beings over there. And really dishonest. They'd be thumping their chests had they landed him.

"His family put out a press release. What a prima donna. Glad he's not coming here. Not fast enough for the SEC."

Its funny. People thought Wes Welker wouldnt amount to anything more than a special teams player in the NFL. He wasnt big enough or fast enough.

What losers those aggy posters are. Tradition goes back more than 2 seasons idiots. And Texas is higher ranked than atm in every academic ranking system.

They are definitely one of a kind.
Wonder what their reaction would have been had a player like
DGB been the least bit interested in them and committed somewhere else.

That would have been epic

Im not going to lie he is a great player but I do not feel he was a good fit for the type of offense we are going to run as I don't see him as a true deep threat at the X position. I actually feel he made a good choice to play in your offense as i think he is a better fit and will be more productive. It stings to lose a legacy but it is what it is. I will be more bummed if we lose samples. Congrats on the pickup.

I'm sure Ryan Swope appreciates that kind of talk too. Wes Welker and Jordy Nelson are also quite terrible.

Oh dear gawd... they're still talking about 5-7 over there????? That's so sad. I'm surprised they aren't bringing up 24-17, too.

The poor ags are going to be disappointed in things when Griffin doesn't qualify next year. I wouldn't think it's a promising academic sign when a guy can't even stay eligible for basketball during a portion of his junior year.

Seriously. Seriously.

Yeah, ATM couldn't use him in their offense.blackeye

I see you tempering it with the compliment, but seriously. A big WR that can run routes, has solid hands, can block, and has good speed is not a fit for the former UH offense. Seriously. Any talented WR is a fit. And the bigger the better in the SEC. You can't have all 5'8" wideouts just because one guy was sorta successful in the UH system. If you take a look, they mixed and matched size and talent. You can say he fits better in UT system, but I'd say a big WR that can move and catch and block fits in any freaking system.

You didn't address my main issue which was his speed, he is not beating an SEC corner deep and if you can't acknowledge that then you don't know
sh!t. He would have been a great fit for Sherman's offense in the Fuller role running combacks, corner routes and deep outs but there are better options for Sumlin's offense then him and I think even he knows it. He had an offer from us so its a loss but I am not sure there are tears flowing anywhere over the loss. He will be a very good player for you guys in your offense.

Nice spin. I love how your coaches offer players they really didn't want anyway. Like the 18 guys you offered that just signed with us in this past class.

Umm, OK. You're not sad you didn't get him and he wouldn't have fit in on your offense and he wouldn't have succeeded in the SEC but you wanted him. That about right?

What does it matter to you? You have no connection to UT other than a ridiculous act/obsession/hatred.

good thing atm has a stable of SEC! SEC! SEC! wide receivers ready to go next year.

OH SNAP! no they don't - they only have BIG-12 wide receivers!!!

come to think of it, atm only has big-12 quarterbacks, running backs, and o-linemen too!

damn son, you guys are in for a long year next year. i'm pretty sure your entire roster of cornerbacks, linebackers and d-tackles are big-12 quality too!

where exactly do you go to look for SEC! SEC! SEC! corners anyway? i'm sure texas would love to upgrade its mediocre big-12 quality tandem of quandre diggs and carrington byndom.

You act like every SEC corner runs a sub 4.4. The SEC's DBs are not any faster than any other league.

I repeatedly said he can run. And he has more than enough speed. Ruben Randle, Julio Jones, AJ Green, Alshon Jeffery and a litany of quality big SEC WRs that lack the elite speed of a 5'6" WR all say hello.

Jones and Green have elite speed (Jones sub 4.4 guys), but your point still stands. Oliver is faster than Jeffery. Jeffery supposedly ran a 4.8. Oliver's speed is similar to Randle's. They are both mid to high 4.5 guys.

Nobody aggy doesn't get is going to be good enough for the SEC. I can see their groupthink already put in place on this. Expect the same unthinking response on every kid. Raulerson and Oliver are obviously inferior apparently despite their ridiculous offer lists (and yes, some from SEC schools).

Three points on an already exhausted topic from the aggys:

1. Kid hates his Dad.

2. Kid looked at A&M's roster and early commits for 2012 and knows he will ride the pine for 4 years.

3. Don't think he would see the field for us. Would have been a nice back-up for depth purposes.

BTW since they're calling his 4.59 slow:

2012 NFL leading receivers(by yardage) and their 40

1. Calvin Johnson - 4.35
2. Wes Welker - 4.61
3. Victor Cruz - 4.47
4. Larry Fitzgerald - 4.63
5. Steve Smith - 4.41
6. Roddy White - 4.47
7. Jordy Nelson - 4.51
8. Brandon Marshall - 4.57
9. Mike Wallace - 4.28
10. Hakeem Nicks - 4.51

Those are the top 10 NFL receiving leaders in yardage for 2011 with their 40 times.

50% run under 4.5
70% run under 4.55
80% run under 4.6
20% run over 4.6
