We presented our case. The NCAA makes a ruling in six weeks.

Would it kill somebody to make a statement ??!! Even if only " we back safely and think we presented our case well. They asked fair questions and we answered them "
Or maybe, " The Ohio State guy saved our butt and the committee thanked us for hiring a guy who had been thru the fire and did such a great job of compliance at OSU "
Something

wow, six weeks to make a decision.....ya gotta be kidding me. By then, they would have forgotten any details of the case we presented.

According to 107.5 today, they made their decision Friday but will not release it for 4 to 6 weeks.

I can't seem to figure how Hyman skates by with nearly no mention of his involvement in what got us before them for a hearing in the first place....

Have to admit before all of this I didn't care one way or the other for Hyman...

Him not stepping up to the plate and saying he owned this or no one calling him on it just defies logic to me....

How does our compliance department call the NCAA to check on the Whitney issues before it becomes an issue....Then its reported the NCAA says "nah, no problem"....Then we are under investigation about it....?

This whole damn thing makes no sense and someone dropped the ball and isn't owning up to it.....

You notice when they hired this guy from Ohio State they made a point of stating that he reported directly to the AD and President....Well, duh, the last guy did too....

Where do get your alleged info that our compliance department called the NCAA to check and the NCAA said "no problem?" I've never seen the university make such a claim. (I have been wrong before.Wink)

you are a measly fan that really does not know anything about how the process works...and that is okay and often expected of fans in general. By in large, fans are truly ignorant about things both on and off the field.

FWIW, our athletic department and the results it is producing have never been better. People always give the credit to the coaches, etc, but the AD produces and climate and makes is possible for good coaches to thrive.

The original article said the NCAA might take 8-12 weeks to announce their decision. No one really knows when they "decide." As for OSU, forget the AD, the President, and the compliance officer-everything there was controlled and manipulated by Tressell. He was all powerful and answered to no one. The President once said he hoped Tressell wouldn't fire HIM. He was God so everyone working under him gets a pass because they had no power or standing.

Maybe Hyman ask the NCAA if he Fired Horn would that constitute making up for everything , sounds like something the new and former "The" Ohio State University compliance guy would come up with..the upside to hiring that guy..he at least has some idea of what might nor might not ire the NCAA..well we can always hope.

ROFL....Yeah Right! The programs that are doing good were in place before Hyman arrived to begin the magic building campaign.....Give me a break...

I gave him credit where he deserved it....but the failures are his too....Can't have it both ways....

But were good...you got your measly opinion and I have mine...

If we still had $220 season football tickets and no YES program the Hyman haters would absolutely love him. Hyman asked for fair market value for football tickets and some have hated him ever since because they can't "be seen" in their west lower season tickets anymore. We can keep Spurrier for 5 more years and average 10 wins per year and they still won't give Hyman an ounce of credit for raising the funds needed to build the facilities to make us a competitive SEC football team. It will be, "it was all Spurrier" or "McGee hired Spurrier." I can see it now.

normally, the COI meets following the hearing and decides on how they want to handle it. it is then tasked to an NCAA employee to produce the written response. the draft response will get circulated back to the COI to make sure it jives with their wishes. after they get it the way they want it, it gets released. it probably doesn't take all that long, except you're having to work with the schedules of a lot of people, not to mention these folks have other things to do. i wouldn't surprise me if our folks got some sort of feedback from the COI to how they are leaning.... whether it was in the tone and degree of the questioning during the hearing or an off the record comment... but our folks have to keep their mouths shut until they get the report because the COI's decision isn't final until the report gets issued.

I doubt the NCAA has made a final decision, especially the same day of the hearing. UNC met with the COI in late Oct and are still waiting to hear back. Apples and oranges I know, but I'd be surprised if the announcement is made before the end of March.

This process doen;'t operate on your time line. Like it or not, there is a protocol to be followed and the ball is not in our court. For any USC official to go public would be a bad move, imo.

Go public? How about just come out, say the meeting went well, we expect to hear back within 2 months, 2 years, 2 decades or something?

Seriously is that asking for too much? Perhaps you need to read the entire report which I posted in another post which details the response by the University....

Exactly who was in charge? If you read the report apparently Jennifer Stiles did what she wanted when she wanted how she wanted...Does't appear to have ever reported to Hyman on anything....Sorry I just don't buy that one....

Someone is trying to get a meeting with the President of USC and she doesn't notify the AD? Whatever!

She fell on the sword....got demoted with 10K less per year and less work and headache! Then we go out and find us a compliance officer with a law degree.....

Some folks appear to be too busy building stuff to pay attention to things that could and did get us into trouble....

If I am the AD and the issue with the prospects family wanting to meet with the USC President came up as its reported by USC and I don't know about it? You would be making 0 per year cause you would have been out the door!

I may be wrong but I don't recall any college program making a public statement following a meeting with an NCAA investigative committee until the NCAA commented on the matter first or released their findings.
