Looke like a 'keep your head on straight' type of moment. Russ can be very frustrating - still very high risk/high reward - but he is still improving IMO.

I think it was positive. I would not be surprised if it was about Russ outfighting the taller player for the rebound. I think Rick was fired up that Russ gave it his all and I think he was showing love in that situation. Russ just made the circus shot, but he also got the rebound and took it coast to coast. I think it was about the rebound, saying "That's it- fight em!"

It was a very strange moment - and my guess was indeed a kind of fierce admiration for Russ having just played without any fear. But I could be wrong - I know that's what I would have been thinking. It was still totally out of character for Pitino.

I saw it too. Pitino had this fierce look on his face when grabbed Russ' face with both his hands. I thought he was chewing him out but the guy just made back-to-back clutch shots. I bet CRP was saying "D@mn, if you were 4" taller, you'd be a first-round pick!!"

Geez, I don't think any of these posts was a shot at Pitino. Not every thread is all about that after all. It was just wondering what he said with such intensity combined with a head grab - which I don't think I have seen him do even when reaming out a player at point blank range. It's called curiosity.
