Kudos to Dieng and Siva

For playing most of the second half and OT with 4 fouls. With all the handwringing about Sivas fouling, got to give him credit on playing under control.

Great work.

Yep, those two came up big late in the game playing with 4 fouls. Good job, guys.

I hate to take away anything these guys do, because I sure as heck couldn't do it. However, I do wish that as a junior (who has been a starter for the last 2 years) Siva would understand just what he means to UofL's offense. Simply put, we are an entirely different team when he is not in the game - bordering on the inept. At this stage in the season, the die is likely cast. In ANY 1/2 court game, and most every NCAA tourney game ends up being a 1/2 court game, we just MUST have Siva on the floor. That's not to say that with him on the floor we suddenly become an offensive juggernaught. But without him, we are a mess.

All that to say this: He needs to quit picking up early fouls. He just does. Last year Morehead game he gets fouls and takes us out of our offense. Depaul game most recent. We just need him. We need him to NOT pick up those early fouls so he can be on the floor more earlier in the game. The fact that he can play 8:00-ish min in regulation and 5 more in OT without grabbing a foul, tells me that he CAN do it. Focus, we need you Siva.

Right, Boro! That and driving to the hoop with no alternate options than to perform a miracle.

Maybe there should be a set play where Siva goes wild and one certain player goes to a spot to receive a bailout pass.

Why not just give the kid credit for what he did RIGHT today to help his team win?

Two of his fouls were phantom. He played 15 minutes with 4 fouls. If he's out, we lose. But he stayed in and we WON.

I was impressed with the confidence Siva showed today. He nailed a 3 ball from the corner in stride, and had another nice pull up J.

Dieng avoiding his 5th foul was crucial. For a kid that has not been playing basketball for a long time, you got to admire him. His instincts are to hustle, and nearly every foul he has seems to be a hustle or contesting a shot foul.

Love him. Love them both.

Boro is 100% correct....Siva has to stay on the floor...he's a Junior and yet he continues to reach and pick up stupid fouls....we go as far as Siva takes us in the tourney, if he's on the bench in our opening NCAA tourney game with 2 fouls early...depending on the matchup, we could be out in the first round again.....while I will give him credit for staying in the game today with 4 fouls, he should never be in that position to begin with......I can live with him over penetrating at times but the stupid fouls he picks up must stop for us to make a run...
