IMO, Why UL should be in the B12!

0 like 0 dislike
First it is a much better conference and more stabilized than the BEast!

Second: It would establish UL as the top dog State University! UKay knows it, the whole state would soon know it! UKay is as good as it will ever be, and UL is just beginning!

Third: It is indeed a land bridge for both WVU and UL! Both schools know this, and both are rivals!!

Only one relevant is #3. The Big 12 would benefit from it so would WVU and of course UofL. The other two reasons are disposable .

Either way its gonna be a while

How about winning the BE? When that happens, it will only draw attention to CCS. Several schools will be after him to join a Big Boy conference. IMO we have 2 years at best to leave the BE.

The Big East will be garbage and lose the AQ status. If a playoff system is born, then they will find a way to keep Big East teams out of it. Dominating the Big East will be about the same as dominating C-USA.

We need to dominate the league we're in now and good things will happen down the road. It's funny how many people on this sight seem to think our program is so superior. We've had some really good teams and have won some bowl games but we have a long way to go before we are considered a traditional power.

Why do we have to be a "traditional power" just to join a conference where we clearly belong? After, "traditional powers " like UK, Vandy, Ole Miss, Miss. State, Mizzou, are all in the SEC, "traditional powers" like the entire ACC outside of FSU and Miami and Va tech belong to that conference, IU, Purdue, Northwestern, Minnesota, Illinois all belong to the Big 10, Kansas, KSU, Baylor, Texas Tech, and Iowa State are members of the Big 12, the PAC 12 has Colorado, Wazzou, Oregon State, Arizona all as members. Schools that fluctuate from year to year include Michigan State, UGA, Auburn, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, UCLA, and others. Those schools have their tickets to the dance, but are no stronger than U L over the last 10 - 20 years. There may br reasons that a conference would not want us, but it can't be lack of prestige or commitment, given the dregs all of the conference have among their own members.

That is why we need to WIN everything in sight! And our OOC should include those teams mentioned in anyway possible and to beat them! Especially now that we are supposed to be all that in the Beast!!

The AQ status will be no longer after 2013. Why not just stay in the big east and dominate the conference. The presidents are already talking about a plus 1 format. If the Big 12 takes us great but right now their is no benefit in them taking us right now because they can split the pie 10 ways instead of 12.

If we stay in the BE we will definitly need to dominate. IMO, there is more downside than up though. If we lose 1 game in the BE it will effect us like it did Boise or TCU in the prior seasons. 1 loss in the BE knocks us outta the plus 1 format.

We need to get respect to keep a coach that will consistantly win. Even with the solid years we had with JLS and Petrino, we were always looked at as a guest instead of a member. CCS can make us a member, but why stay at a program that constantly has to battle for respect even with wins? Nobody likes to climb up a hill that can never be conquered. Everyone gets tired eventualy. Join the B12 and that membership card becomes a bit more attainable.

If CCS dominates the BE year after year he will leave for a job that gets him the respect he deserves just for signing the contract. And who could blame him?

It IS the same as winning CUSA, since it's basically the same group of teams. Heck, if they were going to do this, why not Southern Miss instead of Yeeechhhh- Memphis?
