TJURICH and B12 Scheduling?

Since TJurich is seeking for UL admittance into the B12 why hasn't he scheduled B12 games? Even if we can't do Home/Away at least why noy schedule them 2 for 1 at the least! If the B12 was seeking to bring UL in why hasn't the B12 extend that to UL? Some of these questions don't at least add up and gives me tripedation about us going into the B12 anytime soon!

I suppose that's one way to look at it but I haven't seen a precedence for it in other situations. WVU did not schedule games with the B12. Texas A&M nor Mizzo scheduled games with the SEC. I didn't see Pitt or the Cuse scheduling any more games with the ACC. I'm not sure it would make a difference in our case. I could be wrong, but I can't see it.

Why enter into legal contracts that involve 100s of Ks each, if adhering to them is dependant upon a contract that hasn't been signed yet. OTOH, if the contract has been signed, why keep it a secret?

Who says TJ is still seeking admittance to the Big 12? Message board posters, bloggers, journalists just stirring the pot? Relax, if there really is an offer on the table, rejoice when it happens. These daily Big 12 threads are just getting more an more annoying.

Kinda like posts complaining about B12 threads? It is obvious what the thread is about, so just do us all a favor and skip it.

How may times do people have to post UL will not, and cannot schedule 2-1 games!! It doesn't manner if it's the Big 12, Big 10, of the Big Apple league. It simply cost too much money and tales a hit to our home schedule to do this!! Do you see any other BCS doing 2-1 for ones or actually even suggesting it like you??? LOL !

Actually, since schedules are made sometimes year in advance you would not want schedule potential conference teams. You would then have empty OOC needing to be filled at the last minute. If WVU scheduled Big12 teams for next year than they would be scrambling to fill OOC games for next year.
Once again there is no hints or movements suggesting we are not moving to the Big12, except Pitinos comments which are part of the strategy.

Dont really see the benefit in scheduling 2 for 1. We need to make money as well and scheduling 2 away big 12 games doesnt help that. If the big 12 wants us they will call but as i said since their getting rid of the AQ status and doing a plus 1 for the bcs would it just make sense to stay in the Big East and dominate and get in the top 4 of the bcs year in and year out or get a bcs bid for finishing in the top 10.

Schedules are done up years in advance...for example Texas has their schedules completed up to 2018.
UL the next piece in the Big 12 puzzle....Hope birdteeth is correct on the March 31st date. It will be nice to have another real city to road trip too outside of Austin.

IMO...unless Teddys girlfriend was intorduced to Star Wars at a young age by a Star Wars enthusiast, then she probably likes Revenge of the Sith. She would have been too young even for Phantom Menace which was released in 1999. Guessing that she is probably somewhere between 19-21 that would have made her 7-9. I dont know any kids that age that were excited about the release of that film that was not influenced to do so.
Even if she liked Sith so much that she went back and watched the original 3, kids these days are all about special effects, and as cool as the original 3 were in the late 70's early 80's, they dont compare with the effects of the later 3. And since Sith was prob the 1st one she watched, that is prob the favorite. We are creatures of habit and rarely think a sequal, even one made prior to the 1st one, is better than the film that first introduced us to the saga to begin with.
So IF she is a Star Wars fan, I would have to play the percentages and put my vote on Revenge of the Sith. At 37, Jedi was always my favorite but I never really gave the new ones much of a chance though. Star Wars without Luke, Han, Leia, and Darth Vader just never seemed right to me.

Good one! Had1!
If we are staying in the Big East, I would love to see a 2for1 with USC or UCLA. We have to start making recruiting in roads in SoCal, if indeed we are staying.

How many of us are showing up to see FIU, Memphis, Marshall, Murray, MTSU, Temple, EKU, UTEP, UAB, Army, P' tooie, Ohio U,...? I too didn't go to those games . It was easier to watch on TV! Yes, easier to schedule but much lower attendance that viewers see on TV Nationwide!!

I agree with you cardstud1, we need to put some of these teams on our shedule. From B12, SEC, BIG 10, that is what helps WVU they do because they no just playing Beast schools will not help. Playing at least one or two of the schools every year will help us until we move out of the Beast. Don't know if I would trust The Longhorns with the plus 1 coming. They are all about themself, they may leave the Big 12 and the others will be behind them.

If you support U of L football, you should show up for the no names just like fans do at the traditional powers. You must be one of those guys who comes disguised as an empty seat, i.e., bandwagon fan. Since you bring up these schools, here's how we've done the past two seasons:
Murray State 46,157
Florida International 47,228
Marshall 53.267
Eastern Kentucky, 51,427
Memphis, 48,427

Its a catch 22. We need to schedule these teams to get the respect so we can be invited to a better conference, but as long as we are in the BE we cant schedule teams that wont play us. The reason why they wont play us is the loss would out weigh the win. Beating a BE team, even us, is not near as big as losing to a BE team. Even us. Thats where WVU had an edge on us all this time. They had the national respect to make the win bigger than the loss.
And when Howard scheduled those teams we werent in a BCS conference with a payroll as large as we have now. Losing just 1 home game cost us more now than we made in a half season then. I feel what you guys are sayin and I wish it were doable, but its not. The truth is, we're in a bad spot right now. Its fun to boast bein the team nobody wants to play until we're actually the team nobody will play.

This post was not about scheduling teams to upgrade the schedule but scheduling teams to enhance admission to the B12. I think everyone would love to have a better schedule but that would mean scheduling SEC, B10, PAC10, ACC, and B12 teams. I've long advocated for us to schedule one game a year against an opponent we are underdogs against then scheduling some middle of the pact type BCS schools. The Mississippi schools and Vanderbilt in the SEC, any ACC school. Indiana, Illinois,Minn. etc from the B10. A lot of teams that look good on your resume because they are BCS schools but that are actually very winable.

Bingo! Topper, If B12 is really interested in UL why aren't they scheduling us too! The way I have been reading the posts UL is suppost to be TOP DOG on the B12 list for admission! And, I see that WVU takes on UGa away, UMiss, Ole Miss, etc and WIN! We may not be perrenial right now but playing the SECsm B12s Big10s get us there eventually too!

The reason no other BCS program will schedule us is because in this age of college football its all about getting to 6 wins to be Bowl eligible. Schedule a light OOC and then fight through the conference. The reason we dont understand that is because we play in the BE. BE teams dont boost your SOS like B10, SEC, and B12 teams do. Adding us to thier schedule only puts the middle of the pack teams in a tougher spot to make a Bowl and the big name teams dont need us at all.

had1, Yes I understand that, but for UL it is not working! We play the patsyies and yet we aren't or barely considered for B12! If it isn't working then time to go another route!!

You all do realize that most schools have their OOC schedules set years and years in advance right?
If you're looking for Louisville to land on a B12 schools schedule you may be waiting 7-8 years because the majority are booked up through at least 2018/2019.

If UofL were signing home and home series with Big 12 schools right now, that would make me worry that we were NOT going to be joining the Big 12.
It would be really dumb for a current Big 12 school and UofL to sign a home and home if both schools knew that UofL was joining the conference. All that would do is leave both schools scrambling for a replacement non-conference game at the last minute once the move was announced.

Under the current B-12 setup all teams play 9 B-12 games. That only leaves 3 out of conference games. Getting a B-12 team will be like pulling teeth since they want easy wins for most of those games.

We don't have to worry about scheduling from the SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12 or anyone else until we can sell out the stadium and win 9 to 10 games a year.
We have to stop losing to mediocre teams....
We will get recognized when we win and the stands will be full when we win back to back bowl games. Then comes the Championship we have all been waiting for.

I rest my case. We have 35k fans.
The one's like this are self admitted, front running, fair weather, we-better-be-playing-somebody-big-or-I'm-not-going, if Skippy isn't going I'm not,.... fluff. So yes, it is the fans fault that things haven't come quicker.
But that's ok. We've carried your asses for years. We'll keep carrying you so UL can keep growing, and you can keep acting like big time fans.
Case closed.
