If the ACC Tournament was Now ...

Question

... and the top 4 seeds were as they are now, FSU, Duke, UNC, and UVA in that order, and this top 4 won all their quarterfinals to play each other in the semis, we would play UVA and should win that. Duke and UNC would have a rematch and I think I'd give the nod to the Tarfools for the win, meaning we would play UNC again in the championship game. If it played out like this, what say you as to our chances to beat them twice in the same season and win it all? I would think it would be harder to beat UNC twice this season than beat Duke twice. Thoughts? Would winning the ACCCG push us to a #3 seed in the Big Dance?

If we won out and won the ACCT we would be a 2 seed easily IMO. That's four wins vs UNC/Duke and an RPI of around 5 according to rpiforecast.com

I think a rematch w/ UNC would be challenging because they have almost as much depth as we do, and they will not underestimate us again.

On the other hand, Duke plays a more disciplined game and had no problems slowing us down...

I guess in a battle of attrition (daily games) our defense becomes quite an asset regardless of whom we play.

Good point about our D, Foo. I've got to remember - baby steps, baby steps, one game at a time. IF we're able to beat Duke again, and IF we're able to beat Miami again, then UVA again and Clumpson again, then start getting pumped for the tournament. But in the meantime, our D has to continue keeping the lid on the opponents' nets AND our O needs to continue their new-found dangerousness. I think Snaer Miller White James is the most firepower we've been able to put on the court in years, and will take us far as long as they continue to play at or near their potential in every game that left on our schedule - a big task any way you look at it, but especially considering the off nights we've already had. I'd love to see us close out these last four games with W's and make those off-nights just distant bad dreams I no longer think about.

Disagree.

We scored 76 on Duke. Their defense is not really all that good.
