I just went to their board and I didn't realize just how much they hate us. I have always supported them and enjoyed cheering for them in all their football games when they were not playing us. Now that they are big 12 bound I guess they have turned their backs on us. I hope we join them but it seems they could care less or even don't want us in. I hope Luck does not feel that way if the gets the Big 12 commish job...

WVU fans hate everybody. Thier just angry bitter people. But to thier defense, they have been stepped on more than once by fellow conference teams. First VaTech, BC, Maryland and Miami. Now Pitt and Cuse and almost us. And if you think they hate us now, just think if we got the invite over them. Its bad enough they had to battle toe to toe against a lowly program like UofL. They feel that the invite should have been thiers without question so they hate us for it.

Im with ya. I'll prob cheer for them in the B12 just because they were a BE brother. I respect the way they held the BE together in football while the rest of us were up and down. But to think they respect us in the same way is off base. They have never really liked us because we wernt any of the teams that left them hangin years ago. Its kinda the way a large group of UofL fans feel about UCF comin in. They are where we were 10 years ago and we are where WVU was 8 years ago.

When we joined the BE, they were the first to welcome us. They were appreciative of what we brought to the table in FB to validate the League when it was down. EVERY WVU fan I have met has been friendly and conversive.

I have never been to a game at Morganhole, however. You can always expect some negative personalities on an internet baord. They appear to have a whole lot more of one quality than some other fans..e.g., the clovers, mush and blue, osu, bluenecks and texass. That quality is humility

Most WVU fans support Louisville and would like to see them invited to the Big 12 just like they supported them when they were invited to the Big East. Some posters on our message board didn't like the jockeying for position between McConnell & Manchin before our invitation, but they are a small minority of the fan base. I think that it is a given that Louisville will be the next school invited and Oliver Luck will certainly support your membership.

There are two other virtues that are pertinent, Nation.

Patience. Instead of reacting adversely to my post, go back and read it slowly. It does NOT say the EERs fans are humble. Capice?

Charity. Be kind to the many, many WVU fans who wish us well 363 days a year. From my experience, they are in a vast majority. One example is the previous poster.

Not some fans, not a minority...most of us. That's really the only thing that has caused the bad blood. McConnell attempting to prevent our entry in the Big 12, and the way many of your fans acted when it looked like he might prevail. That kind of thing doesn't get forgiven overnight. Otherwise there's no real reason to dislike your program. We hate UK almost as much as you do.

Oliver Luck is on record as supporting Big 12 expansion and everyone knows who gets the next invite.

I guess that there are a few fans on both sides who think that it is somehow virtuous to hold grudges (even if the circumstances don't warrant it). President Clements & Oliver Luck are going to support Louisville's membership because they are the best candidate for many reasons (facilities, fan support, financial resources, competitiveness, location, etc., etc.). Also, we need to pay them back for the game in Morgantown last year.

I think that the Big 12 will hire a new commissioner first and then address expansion.

I really don't think WVU fans dislike UL. As has already been pointed out, both schools wanting the 10th spot in the Big 12 has caused some dissension between the fanbases. I had argued on here a few times recently and was wrong. Like many other WVU fans, I was upset with some of the comments made about our school. I realize that everyone just wants what's best for their school. I do think UL will be one of the next schools to join the Big 12 and I'm all for it. I also highly doubt OL would oppose this either. WVU and UL have formed a good rivalry since the 2005 Elite Eight game and UL in the conference would give both school's a somewhat local opponent. As stated before, I'd like to see UL, FSU, Clemson, and GT join the Big 12, but definitely would like to see UL and another school if the conference doesn't want to go to 14 teams. Good luck next year and hopefully it's your last year in the Big East! I'd like to see you represent the Big East in a BCS Bowl next season and then join the Big 12 the following year.

I have always liked our rivalry with WV and 99% of the fans I know or have met from West Virginia are decent passionate fans. They have a few who post on their boards who really are over the top idiots, but so do we. I'd take a train load of WV fans over a Mini Cooper load of UK fans any day.

I hope we get to renew our rivalry in the Big 12.

I read a post on the pitt board about this subject and the guy hit about right. The pitt program has no passion or swagger. He called it the pussification of the AD. WVU is wide open, always has been, always will be. Some people do not understand it. If go to a WVU game it will never be confused with a whine and cheese pregame in places such as UNC, DOOK, ect. We are what we are, we don;t give a shit what people say about us, it does not matter after the game is over anyway. Most of the people enjoy the visit to Morgantown, it is small college town. We are not trying to be the MIT of the Mountains. We are a Land Grant Institution that provides a economical education for residents of the state. Yes we accept lower SAT score students, yes our endowment is not a billion dollars, but we are providing an education to 28K students, which in the long run, will advance the life style of the state's residents.
We enjoy and have a lot of pride in our AD, we do more with our AD budget than most schools. We have not always played for MNC and BCS bowls. I clearly remember our schedule consisting of VMI and Richmond.

It takes more than one season loss to piss us off this bad.We are 10-3 overall and have won 4 of the last 5.
The Mitch McConnell thing will stick with us for awhile.

I disagree; it takes very little to piss you guys off. I'm not saying it's a bad thing though.
