Basketball next year, possibilities

T8erhater,

"winning impressively which won't happen next year no matter who our coach is"
You state this as fact, but it is your opinion.
You are probably not a loyal season ticket holder like many of us. I have been going to almost all games since 1970. Yes, I was even there for the Md and Marquette fights and 95% of the games since.

Coach Horn has been a huge disappointment. I think his coaching style, especially defense and rebounding is not suited for top level competition.
But he has done a good job recruiting and has a very good group of players that will be here two more years. They are all much better than average students on SEC teams and have good character. He had to run some off to establish his expectations. Losing Archie was the biggest loss for Horn for he had a very good team with him and could have used that season to leap forward. Next year Cooke will be missed as a player and the leader. Jackson plays some good defense but his offense is horrible and he should go play wide receiver on the football team where he would have unbelievable potential. I believe the remaining nine players can do well in the SEC with a good coaching staff. I really like this bunch of players.

If Horn and the entire staff leave, the team will be better. They also could be much better if Horn fired the entire staff and hired some top assistants who know x's and o's and are good recruiters and gave them more coaching say so.
I would love to see Gregg Marshall get the job and believe he would be the perfect coach. Hyman will be retiring in four years and he will not be around or have to explain what went wrong to the anti Marshall fans if Marshall should fail.
Hyman should do his job and explain the logic of his decisions by the end of March.
