With no knowledge of this photo; I can plainly state that if this was a team picture from the University of Alabama, they would undoubtedly claim that this team did and the proof was this photo.

Are you kidding me? Alabama won 3 national titles in football in 1903. Football, football recruiting, and football team photos. I'm sure I'm missing a few but those are the ones they list on their season tickets and annual poster for the team.

Florida Agricultural College. November 22, 1901 FAC played Stetson at the fairgrounds in JAX. The first intercollegiate football game played in the stste of Florida. Can't find anything about the 1903 team. 1906 was the first year as UF. Info from a book titled Go Gators by Arthur Cobb published in 1966.

I saw some different info on the schools names. The ball they are holding says UF. I'm wondering if they were nicknamed champs or champions instead of Gators.

Florida Agricultural College (in Lake City) was re-named "University of Florida" in 1903, when it expanded its curriculum. That is whose team is pictured.
UF (FAC) combined with 3 other State schools to form the UF we know, after the Buckman Act of 1905. One of those other schools was the East Florida Seminary in Gainesville, which also fielded a team in 1903 and lost to the Lake City team.
Maybe the team pictured was claiming a mythical State Championship, much the way noles do nowadays.

LOL.
Of course, fsu didn't actually (officially) become a girls school untill after the Buckman Act.
The boys school in Tallahassee prior to 1905 was the West Florida Seminary.
Their first football team is pictured below. I'm pretty sure that's Seminole64 sitting out front with the football in his lap.

They are of course all wearing "F"s to demonstrate that they did indeed get accepted to UF.

In 1905, all male students of "Florida State College" (formerly West Florida Seminary) in Tallahassee, including the football team, became part of the University of (the State of) Florida, in Gainesville, just as FAC and EFS did. Therefore, FSC is not really part of the history of FSU -- it is part of UF.
In 1905, the Buckman act also combined the female student populations of several State-funded schools to form "Florida Female College" in Tallahassee. In 1909, it became "Florida State College for Women", and in 1947, it became the Florida State College for Women and Effeminate Men (aka Florida State University). There is no real football history for this school, prior to the late 1970's.

Those uniforms could use a little tweak. Not any worse than what Nike puts out these days though.

Other than FSU once being named "Florida State College for Women and Effeminate Men", what have I posted that is not factual?
Do you use that tactic in your profession -- call somebody a liar, just because you haven't bothered doing the research to learn that they are telling the truth?

You can poke fun all you want, but rest assured, the photo posted by sadgator was from the time period when FSU could use the phase "unconquered" and it actually still meant something...

Jenn Sturger the first. Sucks for her that Hugh Hefner was still more than 50 years away from starting his magazine.

I didn't call you a liar. You don't have a clue what I know or not. I do know enough that you slant things any chance you get when it comes to FSU. Until your last breath you will avoid suggesting anything complimentary of FSU. I know when I read attempts at advocacy, and I read it consistently in your posts. You draw conclusions based on selected information (meaning just the stuff that helps), and do so in the light most favorable to your bias.
That's what having a "version" meant when I wrote it a few days ago. I figure you know you are doing it...or I've mis-judged your intelligence. Hell you even hate on the Seminole Indians.

I guess it suffices to say that Goldie has also not bothered to do any research on our State University system.
Yes, I was born in Oklahoma, but I have now lived 83% of my life in Florida. I doubt that our Texican Nole friend can say the same.
