Slive or Swofford? SEC has leadership with vision, ACC's leadership needs a serious upgrade.

They're a basketball conference, with a minor in football and baseball. Yeah, the basketball may be down a bit but it's still pretty good with 5 teams in the Top 25 (counting Syracuse).

Decisions are still made to support the big four... All other schools cannot make a dent

Funny how that works. There were a ton on here giving the SEC credit for Missouri's bowl win but the ACC doesnt get credit for Cuse being good this year.

I will give the ACC credit for the Cuse. Who do I give the credit for West Virginia? Sorry Tiger couldn't resist.

Touche good sir. I would say there were enough points scored that WV, the Big East, and the Big 12 could all get some credit. LOL

What have they really slipped in? Basketball is down a bit, but UNC and Duke are still very strong. Football is about where it's always been. They are probably at an alltime high in baseball recently, but still not as good as the SEC

The ACC has declined in athletics because they don't care about thriving in anything other than basketball. Swofford made that clear when they offered membership to Pitt and Syracuse. They have put basketball at a higher priority than football. Since football is the big money sport, the SEC is reaping the rewards and that money is flowing back into the athletic departments where all other sports are benefiting.

ACC is done with football. Picking up a horrible Syracuse and Pitt combo sealed the deal that they are thinking hoops long term.

I disagree to some extent. I think Slive's a scumbag for the most part. Ignoring the SEC's own rules just to win a BCS NC with $Cam Newton was disgusting.

Also the way he guided in breaking down scheduling this year. You can't tell me he didn't stack the Deck in favor of Georgia and against us.

I'm not one of the people giving Missouri credit for what they did in another conference playing another conference's schedule. It's the same thing with Syracuse.

Disagree. If that were the case, then they would never have expanded to 12 schools. The "purchase" of Miami, VPI, and Boston College hasn't worked well on the gridiron like they had hoped (feel free to compare this to Horn's contract extension). All expansion has done in (men's) basketball is water down the product.

Bringing in Pitt & Syracuse sounds like a boneheaded decision to me. While not boneheaded, I'm not thrilled with the SEC's expansion to 14. Just too many institutions for one conference, IMO.
