Stanford.
8-3
9-5
18-5

Stanford is a top-three team. They took it to Vandy.

Stanford: 8-3, 9-5, 18-5. As someone said earlier, either Vandy's weekend rotation has gone to crap, or Stanford is LOADED!!!

Vandy is going to be a good team this year, but they took a pretty massive hit in pitching. That is the one thing that makes teams take steps back more than anything in college baseball. Pitching is king. We lost Wingo, Mooney, Morales, and Jackie, but not only did we replace them with quality players that can produce right now, but we kept our weekend starters, plus our bullpen is deeper than ever. You really have to come at your season with a different perspective when you're going in with new pitching, and I think Vandy will experience that. They're a very good team this season.

Vandy's starting rotation from last year is now playing pro ball.

Sonny Gray, Grayson Garvin & Taylor Hill combined for a 31-7 record last year.

Also lost closer Navery Moore, who had 11 saves.

Highly doubtful that the Dores will be a factor this year.

I hope that little runt of a lead off hitter is gone....he wore us out last year the first couple of games.

Vandy pitched six true freshman in the series, and Stanford is one of the top three teams in America. VU will be okay, but their pitching was decimated by the draft.

If you're talkin about the little small black guy Tony Kemp, nope...he's still there. If I remember correctly he was only a freshman last year too.

That's right. He's a true Sophomore this year. Tony goes to our Church and is even a better young man than he is a player. He had an incredible series in Columbia last year. Still remember him taking strike 3 from Price to end Sunday's game. Tony laughs and says that pitch was a ball!! :)

Sounds good. Stanford was #3 and we're #2 so I'm looking for a Gamecock sweep the last weekend in March.

Stanford is indeed loaded, but they almost always are. They have at least 5 scouts at every game.
