Duke game in NYC?

Any Noles in NYC going out to watch the game? I figure the default locale is Saloon on the UES, but just curious if others will be out.

Do they play the basketball games at Saloon? My buddy and I went out to a bar in the Upper East Side for the VT game, but no sound. Let me know if there are Nole fans anywhere that watch the basketball games otherwise we'll be watching at my place.

It's a Nole-owned bar with mega TV's.. they better show it... Otherwise, I'll have to buy my drinks at Brother Jimmy's on the ues. Disappointed the nyc booster club isn't promoting this game up here in Big East country.

Brother jimmy's on the UES? I used to love the brother Jimmy's on the uws. Watched a few FSU games there and loved it.

Yep, they've got a few locations now in NYC. A little pocket of ACC country in the big apple.

I don't believe Saloon opens for business till 8pm. The Stumble Inn is an UES option.

Not that anyone really cares hear this story but the first time I went to Brother Jimmy's was our first football game against BC. I was with a gator crowd and we went to their haza bar (gates were playing tennesee same night) and every tv was on the gate game. I asked the bartender if he could put this tiny tv at the bar on the FSU game. Dude was really nice but he just said "if i do that they'll riot".

So I left, walked two doors down and stumbled across Brother Jimmy's. Acc bar, BBQ, looked like paradise. There was a seat open in the middle of the bar centered between two giant plasmas on the wall, one w FSU game and one w the uf game.

Attractive bartender, $2 PBRs, solid BBQ. I left there after about 10 PBRs and a full BBQ dinner w a $23 bill and a great feeling after we whipped BC.

Good times.

the other big problem for us NYC folks is that the knicks and heat play at 7pm, so most, if not all, bars will have tvs and sound focused on them.

if someone can make sure that the saloon will have tvs and sound on the noles, i'm there.

i'm also thinking about checking with Bar29, but they continuously lose their remote or do some other stupid ish that costs us 10 mins of game time.

I went to Bar 29 for the UNC game last year and it was a ghost town. Still had to fight a little to get one of the TVs on the Nole game since the Knicks were playing.

Hopefully Saloon has the sound.

Saloon is the way to go, hands down. FSU gear everywhere with the game tuned on, guaranteed. Strongly recommend that place, though it may be a trip for some

I go there for the football games. Never heard anything about basketball. Have they been playing all the basketball games with sound there this whole season?

i'm going to give the saloon a call tonight and see if they'll guarantee sound - will report back here. honestly can't see many bars forgoing the $$$ they'll rake in via Linsanity vs. LeFraud for 20 FSU bball fans. owned by an FSU fan or not, money talks.

Did they happen to mention when they would be opening? Their website says they usually open at 7 PM on Thursdays, but obviously the hours listed don't apply for FSU football games.
