Yeguette out for the season?

Getting x-rays right now on what appears to be a broken foot. There goes any chance to make a deep run in the tourney if true.

Damn, I missed the game. What happened? I feel for the kid, he is my favorite player on the team, he is all heart and hustle.

What a bad break to one of our most valuable players. Someone needs to step up. Erik Murphy, Patrick Young, Cody Larson need to pick it up defensively and on the boards

Not good! The energy he brings along with his rebounding hurts this team badly....

He may be a decent player in a year or two, but right know he doesn't bring half to the table of what Yeguette does.

No question that Yeguette is a better player. But he is no longer available. I will repeat, time for Larson to step up.

I actually think it is time for Young to somehow learn how to rebound the ball better in Yeguette's absence. We don't need a bunch of points from Young. If we just got Young to own the glass and play good defense this team can be very dangerous.

If we have to rely on Larson we are in deep doo doo.

Young not being able to hold onto the basketball frustrates the hell out of me.

I've watched a ton of UF basketball over my lifetime, but not enough to know whether or not Billy D has any Pitino in him regarding injuries. Is there a chance? For those not familiar, Pitino CONSTANTLY says a guy is out for the season or some other extended amount of time and then the player miraculously comes back way early. Sucks for WY as he is my second favorite player on the team, behind Beal, and is a kid who you have to love because he gets the most out of his ability ala Chuck Hayes.

Broken metatarsal. Unless he has a TO like superhuman healing ability, he is gone for the year.

no...Billy says he is done...he is done. I don't believe he is blowing smoke.

Re: Young. His performance last night was almost non-existent. Numbers is right. Part of his rebounding problem is he has average hands. When Yeguete gets his hands on the ball, its like Velcro. Young? Not so much.

Young last night - 3 points...4 rebounds. I don't care about the points. We can get them from somewhere else, but the rebounding situation has to be improved. No two ways about it.

without Yeguette UF is DONE.

Though I saw on gatorsports, a Franz Beard tweet saying Brent Wright came back from a broken foot in 3 weeks with a special orthopedic shoe?

Though I'm not sure even 3 weeks would be fast enough.

At Georgia, At Vandy, then Kentucky and SEC tourney in the next 2 weeks......we could lose them all now.

Larson had an entire RS year and half this season. If he can't play 12 solid minutes a game by now, there isn't much else to talk about.

Same with Prather. He is a turnover machine, but just needs to play crazy D and grab rebounds like a mad man for 8-12 minutes a game.

We might have to run like the wind, a bit with Beal at the 4, Boynton at the 3 and Rosario at the 2 and try and wear out the other team, so everyone is a step slower for Larson & Prather.

Larson and Prather have no confidence. Every time they touch the ball they look scared to death.

And Larson is way too tentative in rebounding. Someone needs to install in him a warrior-like mentality, that whenver the ball comes off the rim, it's HIS AND NOBODY ELSES. Yeguette needs to teach the other players this, because that's how he acts.

We're not going to lose to Georgia. Saying that is just dumb. Our NCAA and SEC tournament chances just took a major hit. I saw us making deep runs (SEC Finals and Sweet Sixteen or Elite Eight) in both, but now, I don't think so.

Well, at least there's baseball season and spring football practice coming up. This basketball season had so much promise, too.

Just let Erv keep hitting those boards. He got 7 rebounds yesterday :)

I hope we don't lose at georgia but it's not dumb to say it's possible. Without yeguette we could lose to anyone really.

The team will come out focused. We won't lose to UGa, but I agree. It is not out of the realm of possibilities that we lose. UF is an above average rebounding team with WY. Without him, UF is a bad rebounding team. I have to go back and look, but that possession in the first half where AU got O rebounds on consecutive foul shot attempts was pitiful. I think Murph and Larson were the two bigs on the court at that time.

Regarding Wright: I think he had a stress fracture...not a clean break. I assume WY is a clean break, no?

I know losing Will hurts, but we will manage fine. Trust Billy D to game plan for this situation. Larson and Prather are more than capable than filling the role of Will, they probably even score more too. Just imagine in Prater had some confidence. Putting that athletic freak on the press will be sick. Billy will get them there, just needs to speed up the process.

I'm not counting on Larson or Prather, all of Young, Beal, Murphy are going to have to step up and get a couple of extra rebounds each.

I wish Yeguette a speedy recovery and a quick return to his promising career. I also wish the team success despite his absence.

Without Young and Larson or Prather picking up their game on the boards I don't see much chance of us winning after the Georgia game. Loss at Vandy and home against KY were real possibilities with Yeugette. The we get a 1st round bye in the SEC tournament, so could easily lose our first game there. And then I doubt we get out of the 1st weekend of the NCAA's. Yeugette was a terror on the boards and he was great at generating steals and just disrupting the other team. He was a real key. Young, to me, has been the disappointment of the year. Not much improvement in his game. He has weak hands and just doesn't play with the strength that he has, then commits silly fouls.

We can survive without WY as long as Young and Murphy stay out of foul trouble. Larson can give us 8 to 10 minutes.

Gators will need to become more of a running team and less of a 3 point team imho. Young is the one who needs to step up. Letting him run the floor could be the ticket.

bring the game we brought to UGa today and we not only lose these last 3, but we get blown out. The defense has been absolutely pathetic today.
