who did you think they would be? getting to a final 4 isn't going to be a cake walk, uk is going to have to beat some good teams.

i never understood why some fans though it would be uk and everyone else this year. its a VERY strong year for college basketball.

I am hoping we get Missouri or Duke. I actually wouldn't mind MSU either.

I'd lay money that 3 of those 4 will not make it to the Elite Eight.

Pray for Mizzou out of that bunch of #2's.

I think Ohio State deserves a #1 seed over Duke. I still predict Duke will be the #2 in our region as this is the 20th anniversary of the Laettner shot.

It's going to be harder this year than in several years. UConn and Duke were clearly not the best teams when they won it, and that's because there were few really, really good teams. There are about 8-10 teams that could win it this year.

If we're overall #1, we should draw Duke as #2. They're the worst out of those 4.

Still a whole lot of ball to play I wouldn't even make a conjecture yet, but that's his job.

Problem for anyone is that we are going to play you in Atlanta. And we'll have an 80% to 20% fan advantage... Maybe even more. We should have everything set up beautifully for the NCAAT. This year is OUR year!

I don't care who we have to play. Just bring them on. To be the best, you gotta beat the best. Fear nobody!

We would lob and dunk on Mizzou like crazy. They are too small to guard us.

Please lord let us get dook. I want to watch Rivers walk off the floor for the last time in college after a nice whipping at our hands.

1. Let's just say UK and Duke are put in Atlanta. How much do you think I could get for my lower-level tickets?

2. I've said it before, but Missouri would be the toughest 2-seed to face. They are senior-laden and their guards are good. A good outing by them is possible and scary.

Of the teams that have been highly ranked, Missouri, Duke and Baylorbare three that I wouldn't mind seeing in our bracket. Could lose, of course, but we a nightmare matchup for them (well, for Duke and Missouri - Baylor is just poorly coached).

zero chance duke ends up a 1 seed especially now that unc is actually starting to play really good bball. I dont want to see unc unless it's in the final four. They are really the only team I don't want to see besides louisville just because I think our state would go into a civil war and I would lose my best friend.

Duke has UNC in Durham the last game of the season. If Duke can win at FSU Thursday, they are in the driver's seat for the ACC title and a #1 seed, fairly or not.

I still believe UNC is the only team that can hang with us. Yet I feel confident we would beat them in a rematch. We honestly didn't play that well and still won. I would love a shot at Mizzou in the FF as a 1 seed. Please let this happen.

There's a lot of talk about UNC getting a 1 seed, but really, have they even done enough to get a 2 seed? I'm sure they will, but who have they beaten. They beat Michigan State in the first game of the season on an aircraft carrier, and lost to 4 of the 7 top 25 teams they've faced this season, with the other exceptions being Wisconsin and Virginia, who are overrated anyhow. Their seeding at even a 2 is really based on potential more than anything.

remember the Memphis team that straight up toyed with Izzo's team?

it's nothing but good news if the teams we beat OOC end up #1 seeds. i realize only two have a chance, but still it would be great if they did.

it discredits the other teams and show they have weaknesses to exploit, and puts fear in the minds of (potentially) half the #1 seeded teams prior to playing them

which begs the question (that many would start threads with), are these wins meaningless? we have the SEC Title/#1 Seed locked up.

The players, coaches, and fans want to win every game. So I wouldn't say they're meaningless. If we did lose a game ESPN and rival schools wouldn't see it as a meaningless game, that's for sure.

Missouri's loss to Kansas State fulfills the first step towards them ending with a 2 seed, as I have been predicting. Kansas is not going to lose to them in Lawrence, and not in the Big12T. Kansas is going to get a #1 seed. That's how I'm seeing it shake out.

The last #1 seed ... Well, I think North Carolina wins in the rematch with Duke and wins the ACCT. I'm staying with that all the way. UNC gets a #1 seed.

So my bracket is staying pretty stable right now :

East
1 - Syracuse
2 - Ohio State

West
1 - North Carolina
2 - Missouri

Midwest
1 - Kansas
2 - Michigan State

South
1 - Kentucky
2 - Duke

Our side of the bracket is clear of Ohio State, Cuse', and UNC all the way until the finals. Unless the committee screws us, we're gonna like what we got for the road this year...

I think Kansas and Duke flip flop there with Duke ending out at a 2 seed and playing in our region. Should be a blast.

1 Seeds are lock for UK, Cuse. So the final two boil down to..

1. I'd argue BIg 12 winner of KU and Mizz. If KU wins at home vs. Mizz, I'd argue the #1 seed will be theirs. Remember this about Mizz...they are now at 3 losses in conference and could be staring another with Kansas. Also, Mizz essentially played not a sole non conference.

2. THe other #1 seed I'd argue will boil down to ACC winner over the Big 10 winner at this point. I'm banking UNC wins at Duke to claims that place. They essentially out-played Duke the entire game and crapped out at the end. If UNC ends the season with 1 loss to UNLV, 1 UK, 1 Duke and 1 to FSU...hard to argue with those 4 losses and they did hammer MSU to open the season.

It will be fun, but we're mostly hoping to see KU and UNC grab #1 seeds. I can live happily with Duke, Mizz, Ohio St and MSU in our brackets as #2 seeds.

I'd love to get Duke as our 2 seed. However, I'm sure they will end up with a 1 seed as the most overrated team in the country and will likely get the easiest bracket of every team on the list. See 2010 for proof.

Definitely be pulling for UNC hard next weekend. If they can beat Duke in Cameron, Duke will not be a #1, plus that likely makes the Tarheels a #1 instead.

I do not see the ACC with a 1 seed, I see probably after last night Kansas as the one in the West and Missouri as the 2 in the Midwest against MSU as the 1. UNC and Duke will be 2's in the East and South. I think UNC in the East and Duke in the South. Ohio State the 2 seed in the West. However, if FSU wins ACC they may be 2 seed in South with Duke or UNC falling to a 3 seed.

It was a home loss to a bubble team. They were dominated most of the game.

They have a chance to earn it back by going to Kansas and winning this weekend.

I want Duke!! No doubt we are better, and I would love seeing Coach Cal walk across the sideline with that grin and his hand held out.. Knowing Coach K has just saw "the best team in college basketball" (NOT UNC)

I agree with runt...I think the seeding will fall out the way he has predicted. UNC is really coming on and KU is also asserting itself. UK will get dUKe in the same bracket, but, I would be surprised if dUKe makes it to the regional final.

Ok here is what I want, this is my "line em up and shoot em down" bracket

1st round = who cares
2nd round = Indiana
3rd round = Missori ( long shot as a 4 seed)
Regional = Duke
Regional Semi = MSU
Final = Syracuse

That way there will be no question we are the champs.

I think we could lose some of those games, but I love the tenacity of this team.

Kansas St is nowhere near the bubble. Most projected them an 8 seed and that was before this win. They are rated 19th in Kenpom and 18th in Saragin.

Actually I could make the argument that Kansas St is better than Temple and definitely Miami (FL).....two teams that Duke (1 seed) has lost to.

I shouldn't rip on Lunardi. Everyone does this. Overreaction after a loss or win.

They probably will lose @ Kansas but that's not really the point. Lunardi isn't projecting whats GOING to happen, he's projecting where the teams are RIGHT NOW.

Whether they lose to KU or not really has no bearing at this point of whether or not they deserve a 1.

And Im not saying they do. Anyone can make an argument for Duke/Michigan St. etc. But they were 3rd on the 1 seed line and to move them down a few hours after the loss shows overreaction.

It almost makes me think that god forbid UK was to drop @ UF and then lose in the SEC Tourny, we might not get a 1 seed. It's silly. Complete bodies of work you must look at. NCAA even says themselves a game in November is the same as a game in February.

I just think he made an overreaction with that one.

I think Duke will end up a 2 seed. I believe they'll lose to Florida State and North Carolina. I believe North Carolina will win the ACC tournament. In the Big 10 I see Michigan State winning out, and winning the Big 10 tournament. Honestly, I'm not sure who will get the last No. 1 seed, but I do not want MSU or North Carolina as a 2 seed in our bracket. I'm hoping for Duke, but I doubt we'll see it happen.

I should have said a team that just got off the bubble. They were there before beating Baylor last week.

It is still a VERY bad loss at home for a supposed #1 seed. Duke has some of those too, to FSU and Miami, but we know how Duke is loved.

If it comes down to one of the ACC teams and Mizzou for a #1, the ACC team will get it. You can bank on that.
