It is also the unofficial color for Scotch-Irish Protestants which is why so many colleges and universities in the Applachain chain have orange as their official color (since so many Scotch-Irish settled in that area of the country): Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Tennessee, and that school in the Upstate of South Carolina that has no name.

That Interesting. I have noticed the abundance of orange at those schools just thought it was a coincidence.
