Old story.

It's a Haile Plantation Cookie Cutter. It's not a custom home by someone like Tommy Waters--the custom home builder here in Gainesville.

Meyer bought the home in 2006 for $1.7M. It's not worth anything near that now. I'd give him maybe $995K. But for that kind of money I can go ten to twenty miles out of town; get a 25 acre horse farm with a 5000 sq. ft. house with all the bells & whistles; and get a tax deduction for the land because of agricultural zoning.

Pretty sure Meyer's home is in a cul-de-sac with Donovan's and Jon Pritchett's

I'd buy it, have an amazing 4 years living there, but would sell it right away after year 4 before it depreciates steeply in value.

Let's just hope there aren't any cloudy title issues.

FWIW, Shelley Meyer has told many people around town that all the memorabilla is going to Monte Carlo, er, I mean Columbus,

She is keeping one of the houses in the area-probably the Lake Santa Fe house (where all of Meyer's neighbors despise him) for a Winter home.

Yeah, sure Shelley. That's the reason you want to keep a house here. There just can't be another reason. (Insert rolling eyes emoticon here).

He traded that house to live in Columbus,OH??? LOL!!!! He's gonna love November - May when it's a consistent high of 30 and low's of 15 degrees!

Hope he has a nice snow plow for his new pad in CBus! How dumb, I mean how many people do you know that move from the Sunshine State to the gawd offal north!!! I thought it was the other way around!! LOL! I give him 2-3 years max before he gets the heck out of that s&^t town they call CBus!

That's pathetic - the house is unimaginative the interior decorating is for crap and the kitchen is a steaming pile of crap.

I don't own (moved back to florida in 2007 and was smart enough to rent) but I live in about 2,300 sqft. My kitchen kills his and i dont have green puke on the walls

Then again he's from Ohio - those midwesteners dont have much in the good taste department

I'm questioning now whether Meyer ever actually owned the lake house here next to us. I know the story goes it was given to him (or sold) by that @)%*!@)% idiot Gale Lemerand who owns the god awful monstrosity sitting right next to it, but I have not seen the Meyer's here ever since he teamed up with TOFU. I've seen no activity at all at the property, and there was ALWAYS some kind of workmen doing work on the property each week before.

I'm seriously thinking now that the #1 @!)hole in Florida only LENT him the house, or just let them use it, cause there's definitely no for-sale signs up, though Lemerand has tried to force everyone else on the street to sell their properties to him already and we all told him to get stuffed and F#$* the hell off.

Honestly I think if I do see Urban speeding down our street one of these days, I won't wave as usual, I'll just throw up the middle finger for him, even as my 2 dogs are walking along wearing their canine Tebow jerseys.

For the locals record, nobody has seen him in BWB since either, so he's not been in town, but you'd expect that with him having a full time job of trying to steal everyone else's recruits to make the bucknut's class respectable this year. Honestly what's he going to do with any property down here in Florida anyways? A bigtime head ball coach like that almost never gets any real time off to go on vacations and such. If they aren't in season, they're recruiting, if not that, they're doing the booster club circuit and meeting with alumni and the big honchos controlling the purse strings to keep them all happy. Head football coach is a glamorous job when you're on the field (and winning) but the vast majority of the rest of the year, it's gotta suck.

The public property records show that the lake house in in Shelly's name (as trustee). It also shows he way overpaid for it.

I own property on little Lake Sante Fe, so I like to keep up with the sales and purchases on the lake.

Meh. Its a nice house and a lot nicer than what I am living in, but for 4 times the price? I just don't see it being worth anywhere close to 1.7 Mil.

Doesn't look anywhere close to 2900 sq ft... I'd have judged 1000 sq ft from the looks of it but oh well. Guess it's the summer home they can spend a weekend in each year when Urban gets time off. My big question is, have they yanked his son out of Queen of Peace and made him move YET AGAIN to a school up north? Obviously since there getting rid of the Gville house.

Like who? Gale? We recently bought a house on lake santa fe so im curious. Blue water bay, which is the local hotspot, hasn't pulled the mini urban shrine from the walls. Though I wish he would.

This is exactly what my wife said. No taste whatsoever. And what about the cheesey pipe furniture in the patio. I don't make $5 mil a year but at least we have very nice Restoration Hardware patio furniture and like you our 2,500 sq. ft. house in Ft. Lauderdale blows that away. Just proves that money doesnt buy taste. And from some people who know him well, Meyer is supposed to be very cheap!

I saw him a couple times while I was fishing the mouth of Melrose Bay last summer. His son was always out back playing with other kids, jumping on their trampoline and what not.

Gale, on the other hand, I've never seen anyone in or around that house in a year.

He's not talking about the lake house. The house in Haile was built for Meyer. He lived in a house in Cobblefield next to a friend of mine until the Haile house was built.
