Stansbury's Face at End of Game

0 like 0 dislike
Did anybody notice Stansbury's face at the handshake? He facial expression looked like one of a beaten man who knew this loss may have been the one that cost him his job.

Only saw Stans face at a glance. Perception here was that of FEAR OF THE FUTURE.

I don't know why it will cost him his JOB THIS YEAR.

Do you have a screen capture?

Would make a nice "caption this pic" post.

No I do not have a pic post and to tell you the truth I don't know how to do it if I had one. The reason I think it may have cost him his job is that MSU may not make the tournament. If they do not I am not sure Stansbury survives.

It didn't. But, the 3 prior ones along with a ton of other horrid losses just might have. Anyone who tries to save their job with an unlikely win as opposed to just doing their job every day is flirting with disaster.

His job is safe. He's not getting fired for losing to UK.

Stansbury is a whiney baby, but could Mississippi State do any better? Very doubtful.

Kind of like BCG's face at the end of the Notre Dame game in the NIT.

Highly unlikely that a loss to UK is going to get Stansbury fired. On the contrary, have you seen the headlines..."UK survives scare"? For people who watched the game, they are going to say MsSt was well prepared at the start (or did a good job hiring the refs). UK is just a superior team. That's not going to get him fired. He's likely to get MsSt to the NCAAT again this year. That's not going to get him fired. I don't like Stansbury's whining and demeanor either, but realistically there are only a handful of places in the country that have as much desire and interest in BB as UK. Getting your team to the NCAAT on a semi regular basis usually keeps a Coach's job safe.

I agree if he makes the NCAA he keeps his job, but, if he misses I am not sure I think even MSU fans and boosters think he has underacheived based on the talent they have had over the last few years. Better coaches are out there, but, can they bring in the talent that he has brought in is the question.

I can't see him getting fired anytime soon . Before you fire a coach you got to think who could you get to take his place . I really can't imagine someone of any worth wanting to coach in that cess pool !

I don't know if this is foreshadowing or coincidence or whatever it may be...but honest to God I had a dream last night that Stansbury had a house for sale in Mississippi....JUST SAYIN.

I wonder what Stanbury's contract situation is. Does he have multiple years remaining on the current contract? I doubt they are going to want to buy him out if he has a few years remaining. If he can win out and do well in the SEC he may make the NCAA.

For Miss St, he's actually done a pretty good job. Didn't realize they've had 9 20 win seasons under Stansbury. If he'd cut the whiny crap, he'd be okay.

Hood is going to be a good player for them and they always give us a fight - Stansbury will be fine.

Frankly I hope he stays right where he is. We need some entertaining coaches in the league. He's good for some bulletin board material and a late game choke every year or two.

I think the MSU basketball fans are like the us KY fans in football under Brooks. We were happy that Brooks made us respectable but we got tired of being 7-5 and wanted to go to next level whether it was a realistic expectation or not. I think MSU basketball fans are the same they are tired of being respectable and want to get to the next level whether it is realistic or not. I think they do not believe Stansbury can get them to the next level.

He might have been having stomach cramps and feeling bloated. Take it easy on Stansbury.

He tried with his team to look a barking Cat in the eye. He learned his lesson.

Stansbury: I know that will NEVER get the coaching job at UK B/C of you.
It has been MY live long DREAM.

Stansburys face was one of a man who really hated to lose to an arch rival. He made a comment on that to friends when he shook Caliparis hand.

Its a good rivaly. UK needs great SEC rivals. Tennessee in the near future isnt going to give us a run for our money. Stansbury is a good coach and his job is not in danger. Not at all. I admit I like his emotion. He was all tore up after Cousins and Wall nailed him to the wall in Nashville at the SEC tourney a few years back. I mean the man was distraught.

I saw his face. He had the "that was our best shot and we let it get away from us" look. I think MSU has not had a fair shake with UK the last few games but he couldn't complain about this one. As far as his job, not sure MSU could do better but I think Stansbury could.

Stansbury nearly left for Clemson before last season. The deal was on the table and he turned it down at the last minute. I don't think MSU will fire him, but he may once again look for something else and decide to move on himself.

The look on the face of the kid with shaved head at scorer's table face is pretty funny if you ask me.
