Regardless of how he get his chance, I hope he does turn it around. Maybe knowing that he probably won't get drafted may make him work even harder.

True. This NFL season showed that a big, tough QB that can run can play a valuable role.

Cool! Maybe they have some actual QB shoulderpads in their equipment room?

Hard to say but a close source says the 49ers signed Chisolm. Happy for DC.

Sadly, I agree. He always eventually makes mistakes under pressure. In the NFL, the QB is constantly under great pressure. He's tough as nails, but not particularly fast. He'll be run down by linemen. However, his biggest deficiency, other than mental mistakes and the failure to put in the time to really learn the position, is his accuracy. There is none. There is absolutely NO WAY to succeed in the NFL if you can't throw accurately.

He's too prone to make stupid mistakes. The NFL would eat him alive. Wish him the best though.

He will make a roster in the NFL as a practice dummy...

Garcia will get an opportunity somewhere. There is a shortage of good QB's in the league and in the draft this year. (Seriously, the 4th best QB in the draft was a wide receiver two years ago.) Teams will give him a shot because they're banking on the premise that if a guy was successful in the SEC, then he probably has as good a chance as any to be successful in the NFL. He won't be a starter, but I'll bet he'd be an upgrade over pretty much any team's 3rd stringer (and cheaper too since he'll be on the rookie pay scale).

Last I heard, Tebow is going into next year a potential starter. Garcia is no Tebow, but both have accuracy issues. Tebow can bring other elements to the game, but lack of accuracy alone won't kill your chances necessarily.

Garcia did not even get invited to the combine.

That is all you need to know.

No. He WON'T BE DRAFTED. That is for certain. But I could see him get a free agent deal.

Not so fast, some turned down the combine for Pro-day since every scout in the NFL will be there for Ingram Alshon and Gilmore, Trav...

Link: Kyle will be there at ProDay also.

When the NFL allows lazy qbs wearing crocs to practice that cant read a defense Garcia will have a shot. The NFL is pretty high on character and dont take many chances on players that missed 3 spring practices among other rule violations. Garcia doesnt have the arm, accuracy, height or determination to play in college much less the NFL.

Ask the family of their loved one who Leonard Little killed after multiple DUI'S about character... Character in the NFL, now that is both funny and sad.

He was already an NFL player and college all american. Not an average player that wore crocs to practice.

Garcia is going to prove a lot of people wrong. Think he will be a solid backup QB one day. He will at least make a practice squad this year.

I've been a huge Garcia fan.

I think at this point it will take a miracle for him to land on a team.

He had a great opportunity and failed to take advantage of it.

The statement that he is not tall enough is not true. He is a big guy. That will not be a problem. He might be signed as a free agent. He won't go anywhere if his strange loss of passing ability is not corrected. I still don't understand what on earth happened with the interceptions. Some of those balls could have ended up in the seats.

All this Garcia bashing is ridiculous. Hell get a chance as a FA somewhere. Hopefully he can make a roster.

This is a quote from Steve Spurrier himself in the SI SEC preview.

question: What do you need to see from SG if he returns?

SS response " We're hoping he'll mature and become a solid student athlete here, dress appropriately, try to learn everything he can about our offense- which he's never made a commitment to do. Hes got potential and I believe he can play smarter than he has in the past".

Thats from coach Spurrier....some of you guys have a major mancrush over SG and I dont know why.

Seems more like you have an agenda against Garcia rather than others having a mancrush. All I have seen on here is people saying they hope he succeeds and gets a chance. That's a mancrush? If that's the case, I might as well propose to Spurrier, Tanner, Shaw, Roth and the list could go on and on. Yes, Garcia messed up but he is still a Gamecock. It doesn't sound like you are a grown man when you can't let Garcia's past go and just wish the guy luck. Nothing cooler than wishing ill-will on someone because they put your favorite team in jeopardy. Some people take this stuff too seriously. Grow up and get over it.

I never said he would be drafted or make it in the NFL. I personally don't believe he has the skillset to be successful but that is my opinion and others are allowed to have their opinions that he will make it. You sound like an insecure little man saying that everyone who has a different opinion than you obviously has a mancrush. Again, get over it.

Well he got his degree--so I guess he's a solid student, he can wear his hair/beard/clothes however he wants now that's he's on his own--guess he just has to learn an NFL offense thru & thrue--and then Spurrier's basically saying he'd be a smart player.

Spurrier & Jerri are supporting him. Spurrier said, he hoped he'd get a chance in the NFL--he's letting him come to the USC Pro Day--yet some haters still hating??

It's really nicer to be nice and just wish the best for everybody--that's all anybody's saying--not crushing.

"decock", I read all the Garcia threads and MANY others because I love & am interested in ALL Gamecocks. I happen to remember all the GOOD contributions Stephen made to the team as well as the not-so-good! We wouldn't be where we are now without his contributions regardless of what ANY brilliant mind wants to post (or any NFL genius scout)! What I can't fathom is the ones so full of hate for this young man that they still choose to read threads about him and get some sort of satisfaction to put comments of hatred up about him! Garcia has admitted he made these mistakes & regrets his immaturity and bad choices (which ALL of his offenses were - NOTHING of a criminal nature) yet we have fans who STILL get some sort of thrill out of bashing him! THAT, to me, is immaturity at it's worse form, so it's the pot calling the kettle black, so to speak! NONE of us knows what the future holds, so if there's nothing encouraging to say about one of us (yes, he IS one of us as a grad here), then lay off and see how it plays out! As you said, Spurrier & Jeri are pulling for Stephen and MANY of us Gamecocks are as well - him and ALL the rest!

Any QB that goes undefeated against Clemson, helps knock off a #1 ranked team and win the SEC East in the history of the Gamecocks deserves some respect. He admitted his mistakes and yet some feel the need to pile on him, he took a pounding most wouldn't get up from when he played for SC. I doubt defenses this coming season will be too worried about the deep ball but we'll get to see how that all plays out. Hopefully for the best just as for SG.
