There was a defensive sequence late in the game last night...

Where Terrence just worked Moultrie, refused to give an inch. Both guys were going hard, but Terrence erased any chance of a pass into the post. Best defensive effort all season from him. We won't lose if he continues to give that effort on the block...

I saw that too, and at the same time, MKG was absolutely blanketing Bost on the perimeter. They were trying desperately for an isolation play down low with Moultrie and they couldn't get the entry pass away. It was that level of effort that won the game. I don't like that we have to be down and then "turn it on," but man, when we do turn it on it is a sight to behold.

Yep, Jones was like a mad spider on that play, ensuring his prey didn't get out of the web. That was downright awesome to watch.

Cal was full of praise for Jones' defensive effort. It was clear he challenged him tos step up on that end, and Terrance did all that was asked.

On the other hand, I thought Lamb looked a little lost on defense in the first half.

Jones took offense to the no-call push in the back of Davis on their missed corner three point shot that resulted in a Put back DUNK by Moutrie!

Except for the put back dunk, Moultrie was shut down by Terrence in the second half. If he plays with that intensity for 40 minutes he will definitely end up in the Lottery of the NBA Draft. We need him to play like this to get that 8th National Title.

He is a difference maker on the defensive end. He gets overshadowed by the stellar play of Davis, but Jones is a great defender on the perimeter as well as the interior against 3's and 4's. He's also a great shot blocker.

Cal just needs to settle him down at the start of games. He seems to start out tentative and pressing too hard. When he settles into the flow of the game he begins to play more under control and more aggressively.

We really needed him and he came through BIG TIME last night!

GO CATS!!
