OK, here is how I think the ACC slates the Noles for the coming year....
9/1 Murray State
9/8 Savannah State
9/15 Wake Forest
9/22 OPEN
9/29 at South Florida
10/6 Duke
10/11 at North Carolina State
10/20 at Miami
10/27 Clemson
11/3 Boston College
11/10 at Virginia Tech
11/17 at Maryland
11/24 Florida
Here is what I come with and why. September is going to be the month where the bye week will be placed. Unfortunately, the teams FSU plays on the road this year are booked up on 9/22. I don't think the ACC would slot FSU and Miami for the 9/22 slot. It just doesn't make any sense. The game usually falls in the middle of October, so I'm going to say that FSU plays Miami on the 20th since Miami is booked the first two weekends in October.
Yes, we will get a Thursday night road game this year. It happens almost to every year. Fact of life, and no, we're not getting a bye before the game this year either. With the OOC games all the teams have lined up, I think we're going to have to face reality that we're not getting a bye. I know the PAC12 has a game on the 11th. However, I think it's a later game, and ESPN will find a way to double dip there. That's the only caveat in my guesses, is whether ESPN says no two games in one night. It's Arizona State at Colorado. I know the Pac 12 has games on 10/4 and 10/18, so FSU could be moved to later in the year. If that is the case, switch Clemson to 10/13 and NC State to 10/25.
Now, as far as Virginia Tech, I think the ACC will make that game in November. It's a marquee game on the league slate this year and having the game in November makes sense from a league standpoint. FSU and VT would have all year to get ready for the game, and I think it would guarantee a big time game if both teams can stay ranked high. Also, it keeps the ACC in the national landscape and discussion well into the season. Playing the game early could have an affect where no one talks about the ACC after a game in September or October.
Yes, for some reason, I think we play Maryland before Florida. Most years we have from what I remember. I know that was the case from 2007-2010.
Let me know what you think will happen. I would love to see some guesses from fellow Nole fans as to how this will play out.

I hope the Miami game is on 9/15; them, Wake, and Duke are our only possible opponents that day. Three straight home games are difficult, and three straight home games against FCS schools and Wake/Duke (granted Wake has won 4 of 6) and we're going to see lots of empty seats.

Props for making your guesses known.
Everybody will now pick away at you.
You may be correct on VPI. Your reasoning is sound, However, would the league put FSU/VPI that close to the end of the season, knowing that we maybe playing again in a few weeks in the ACCCG?
As young as they are...the sooner we play Miami, the better for us.
That would be a waste of an open date on 9/22.
BUT...you made the guess. Props to you.
I guess we'll know today or tomorrow

Will guess CLEMSON is Nov 3 or 10 as that is likely to decide the division so as you say "that makes sense from a league standpoint in re:TV & national interest, etc".
I believe Va. Tech has hosted more Thursday PM games than anyone so here's a guess that game is Thur, Oct 18, with both teams getting an open date the previous Sat. That way you play 6, get an open date, then play 6 more.
