Were the Savannah College of Art and Design and Armstrong Atlantic State booked that weekend? What a joke!

I imagine it was because everyone else was already booked. When someone dumps a game like WVU did this late in the game, it's nearly impossible to find someone else to fill that hole.
They probably could have convinced a C-USA or Sun Belt school or someone to give up one of their home games against a 1-AA school to come play them, but I bet it would have cost them a couple million bucks.

True, but they've known that WVU would be leaving since October 28th of last year and it was almost a certainty that a deal would get done once the competing lawsuits were filed by the Big East and WVU. I've read that Oliver Luck told FSU they were going to back out of this game sometime in November so they could have at least lined up a more competitive opponent than a 1-10 FCS school. Then again, this team did lose to Clemson last year. Perhaps they are trying to minimize their exposure to good teams.

But it would have just been just like WVU to come back and say oh by the way we are still coming. So if FSU booked someone else then FSU would be screwed.
