These pesky bastages are worse than the 7 year itch! NC's don't matter because FSU got Goldman and Winston. Bama fans... please tea-bag them.

Thank you. Carry on and War Eagle.

I'm trying to figure out when all this bad blood came about between Auburn and FSU. For me it started when you guys tried to steal Stoops from us by offering him a 7 figure salary. That pissed me off. Luckily for Stoops it wasn't all about the money. The thing is, if Auburn really was the better job then Auburn wouldn't have had to use money to entice Stoops to make a lateral move. We gave him a little bit of a raise and he stayed.

Then you have the fact that we've had some serious recruiting battles with Winston, Goldman and Darby. It's crazy because we don't even play in the SEC and you yet all these SEC teams like Auburn hate us so much.

For for me, I never had any animosity towards Auburn until they tried to steal Stoops from us.

Don't worry about them Schmidty,

To an Auburn fan, you are either with them.... or you are beneath them.

It's pretty funny, and sad at the same time.

Are you stupid? There was not 1 thread on this open forum about FSU until FSU fans came here and started several threads talking smack. That was the beginning of the smack talk you still see on this board today. Personally, I dont give two shits about FSU and I wish you and other members of your retarded fan base would get the hell off this board.

I know I have done it a couple of times, but Auburn fans should probably stop starting threads calling them out because that only encourages the retards to stay and continue spewing their stupidity

If somebody tries to 'steal' a coach you should be glad you got a good one. FSU has some good coaches. Some are ex Auburn coaches (Fisher, Trickett, Gran) and an ex Auburn player (Craig). Hate is good because that means we are winning and folks love to hate winners. Stealing coaches/recruits is what it is all about. I don't understand the animosity towars it from FSU fans.

TX 'stole' Muschamp from Auburn. FL 'stole' Muschamp from TX.. it is just a business.

These coaches do not have the same same love for an alma mater like FSU fans have.

Not much of a recruiting battle between AU and FSU for Winston according to him even. "Auburn is no longer in the running," Winston said. "Auburn does not even recruit me anymore. ... If Auburn would have recruited me the way that Alabama has, they would be in my final group."

Since I'm not on the staff at AU, I don't know what the offer was for Stoops or why it would be so high. Unlike his brother who has won a lot of football games as a HC, he hasn't proven himself to be worth that much. Not yet at least IMO.

The bad blood between the fans is due to some fans and their obnoxious behavior. Feel free to read through the threads here on the AU board where your brethren came over spewing their garbage. Maybe you can ask them why they felt the need to visit a board and show their a$$es.

Sanctions Stand, I wouldn't have minded someone stealing Stoops, or Gran, or Trickett or Craig to a promotion. It's stealing coaches to a lateral move that pisses me off. Stoops has done a great job with our defense. The main thing Auburn had to offer over FSU was one thing: MONEY. And that's what they tried to do. It's one thing to try to hire him as a Head Coach. I would he thrilled to lose Stoops to that. But trying to lure somebody to a lateral move by using only money was like a slap in the face. Stoops is happy here at FSU, we offered him a little bit of a raise and he stayed. No harm done.

Malzahan turned down HC jobs (one offer at Vandy) and took the Ark State HC job. He took a pay cut. It was not about the money for him either. You never really know what motivates these coaches. I still say don't be mad that other schools are after your coaches... that is a good thing. Congrats on a great signing class.

Who cares? Most Auburn fans only wanted a good defensive coordinator. We didnt care who it was. It turns out we got a better coach than Stoops in my opinion and the opinion of most Auburn fans I know. The majority of Auburn fans are absolutely thrilled about the way things worked out and no longer give two shits about Stoops

Thanks, Sanctions Stand. Like I said, no harm no foul. Congrats on your class too. Avery Young was a huge pickup for you guys. Wish we could have gotten somebody like him.

I'm really not trying to be obnoxious, but I'm sure it may be taken that way. Going from a DC in the ACC to a DC in the SEC isn't a lateral move in my opinion. Doing the same job in a harder environment, isn't lateral. A successful DC from the SEC is more appealing than a successful DC in the ACC for future HC positions. Again, not trying to be obnoxious, but the talent level in the SEC has been and is currently higher than the other conferences. That may very well change, but for now that's how it appears.

AUav8r, this is where I can't stand SEC homers. We see it differently. You see it as going from "ACC DC to SEC DC." I and most rational people see it as going from "FSU DC to Auburn DC." Quit lumping us in with ACC schools. We haven't been at the top in a while but you'd still be hardpressed to find a better school than FSU anywhere in the SEC. We recruit well, we have great facilities, a great fanbase, we won 2 NCs in the 1990's and we are on the way back.

It's like you guys always compare ACC vs SEC. Let me ask you this: is there a difference between ACC FSU and ACC NC State? Please tell me there is so I know you are thinking rationally.

Players and coaches choose schools, not conferences. Listen to Eddie Goldman. He said "I picked the right school for me, I didn't care about the conference they play in." People who talk about how they are great because they are in a great conference are usually the bottom feeders in that conference.

Definitely a difference between FSU and NC State, but you can only be truly judged at how you do against your competition. FSU "lumped themselves in" with ACC schools when they joined the conference. You play against ACC competition and are unfortunately judged based off of that decision. You have to be able to see that. Don't you??

AUav8r, I do agree with that. I would rather play in the SEC but we are in the ACC. We play against who we play against. My point is that conference affiliation doesn't determine how good you are. The ACC was weak in the 1990's but FSU was dominant. The SEC was the best conference then, but we went 8-5-1 against Spurrier's Gators (who were the SEC's best).

If our program gets where I think it is going, we should theoretically run the table in the ACC and then get our chance to play the SEC's best in a BCS Bowl or a NC game.

My point is I think that while the talent between ACC/SEC is an issue, the talent between FSU/SEC is not there at all. We've got players all over our roster that every SEC school would take in a minute. You would agree with that, wouldn't you? And wouldn't you agree that Jimbo's 1st two years were laying the foundation and developing those players? I am evaluating Jimbo more from this point forward.

Agreed that FSU has talent. Squandering talent is where I (and many others) see the issue with FSU recently. Very similar to Georgia. Jimbo may do great things, but until proven on the field it's just personal opinion. I'm not claiming that Auburn is the greatest football school out there. Anyone can look at records and see that, but we did have a pretty good year last year. :) 2004 was pretty good for us too. FSU has had an ok record against lesser overall talent than teams that play a full SEC schedule year in and year out. Feel free to disagree, but once again records speak for themselves.

Seems to me that FSU has won its last four games against the mighty sec. Alabama in o7, sc in chik filet bowl, and florida the past 2 yrs. I would say that FSU is pretty competetive in the sec.
