For all those who blasted me on Craig

All I can say is that he's either the unluckiest man in that these women target him alone or he is what we said he is.

He should have been gone long ago oldtyme. We agree.

I also like that Dabo didn't give him several chances like other coaches would have.

Yep, that sort of puts it in a different category.

Best wishes to him going forward.

Trying to compare this to Garcia is laughable. Let's see, beating different women on two different occassions (those are the two people know about) vs. alcohol, keying a car, and discharging a fire extinguisher, do not even compare. Heck, add those three up with one of your player's bowlgame marijuana use and it still doesn't compare. Just saying, beating women is uncalled for and no matter what team an athlete plays for, should be automatically kicked off

How many players have been allowed to continue to play for spurrier after a domestic abuse charge?

I don't think coot fans have any room to judge this issue.

Glad Dabo sent him packing although he was NEVER found guilty in court.

By the way, in no way am i defending Craig but will say women will "lie." Or maybe i should say some women will try to push the wrong buttons. Does that excuse Craig? No.

When I was younger I had a relative that would get up in her husbands face, spit at him, push at him, cuss him, dare him, etc etc. I seen it personally. When he would finally push her off, not hit her, push her away, she'd go screaming and crying to the police. Seriously.

When the police got there, me and another family member told the officer what she was doing. He arrested them BOTH although in my mind, he had really done nothing worthy of being arrested!

Answer = None. The closest we've come is Kerry Bonds back when Spurrier first came to USC. He was dismissed within a few days of the incident. Spurrier might be forgiving about many things but domestic violence is not one of them.

"We have a rule on our football team, if a player ever hits a girl he's finished. He's out and our guys know that. We've dismissed two players in six years, hopefully we don't have to dismiss any more," said Spurrier. He said he'd like to see high school coaches make the stand against abuse as well.

Anyone here want to tell the coot above the name of the player that played for Spurrier after a domestic violence arrest?

Sorry to disappoint but you won't get a name because there isn't one. There has only been 1 arrest (Bonds) and he was dismissed immediately. The other incident was an accusation of assault (report filed but no arrest) against Quinton Richardson and he was indefinitely suspended shortly thereafter and subsequently left the team. I encourage you to utilize the internet to search for these players we have not already named. Best of luck.

Men lie too.

When the police have to show up and both folks are bruised or cut or whatever, the excuses are over. The "well she is lying" is over.

YOu can't put yourself in such situations. I've been mad at women before growing up, but there is simply no excuse for putting yourself in a position to have to strike someone unless they come at your for absolutely no reason and you have to protect yourself - and then you should just take off and get out of there.

Tsport that's why I said it doesn't excuse Craig. We agree.

I just disagree with always judging the man, yeah get out, get away but women CAN use being a woman an excuse to take advantage of situations.

I agree but I also found out that this was not the first time the girl had done something like this. She was kicked out of another school for causing trouble and why Clemson let her in I'll never know.

My sister knows Joe's dad and Joe has always been a good kid and his dad does not put up with that. That's why I was on Joe's side to begin with but now he has to go period. I don't know what happened this time I don't know if it was with another girl or he started a fight with a guy. I do know he want be looking forward to home warming his dad will have for him.

Well for the purpose of this conversation it certainly seemed that USC was the relevant team here. So your contention is that Spurrier has a history elsewhere of condoning domestic abuse? Interesting. What are your examples?

I'll show you news articles about where McDaniel and Criag were accused of physical violence against women. Show me any news articles that indicate physical violence against women by Giles or King.

In August 2006, before his first season at Georgia Military, North Charleston police arrested King and charged him with kidnapping and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature following a two-hour argument with an ex-girlfriend.
The female, who was 17 years old at the time, told police King held her against her will at his home through various physical means.According to an incident report, King bent the girl's wrist, grabbed her around the throat and later slammed her to the ground before apologizing and allowing her to leave.

Here is a link to all the crap King was involved with....

So your argument is that Spurrier was wrong for bringing King to USC after he left GMC because of the history of violence that occurred before he went to GMC (BTW, he was never prosecuted)? This conversation began regarding players on the respective teams being accused/arrested for battery on women while at their respective schools and being allowed to continue playing at that particular school. CU = 2 USC = 0. I personally would not have brought a player on board with ABHAN Kidnapping charges (dismissed or not). That

Jarvis Giles made a bunch of noise in the lobby of a USC dorm one night - something like that. For about 10 seconds it got picked up as a story until everyone realized it was absolutely nothing. On this board for about a day some folks tried to make it a big deal but then it even went away here. I'm impressed someone even remembers that because it only flashed for about 12 hours one day.

I think what Scklp is saying is that a coach can be against domestic violence but yet still recruit a guy accused of domestic violence.

Does that make sense?

Scklp says its ok to recruit King because he wasn't convicted yet Clemson should have run Craig off the first time although he wasn't convicted. Hmmm.

Hypocrisy?

I guess reading comprehension must not be an area of strength here. I posed a question that had facts of the matter contained within. If you actually read a little further you might see that I said I wouldn't bring in someone with that history. I also wouldn't let someone who beats a female with a towel bar stay on my team or someone who beats and pushes a female down stairs and agrees to go through PTI instead of facing trial on the charges stay on my team. Still waiting on that information on Giles. Nice touch with the list Goat. No criminal activity up there in Pickens County. Right?

No spinning here. And while we are checking records I would suggest you take a serious look at violent crimes or incidents involving serious bodily injury at CU in the last 5 years. I like the list though. Interested to see how much it helps out in the big 3 of men's sports this year.

You sure you want to go down this path? You act like Clemson is so perfect. Why is it so hard for y'all (and our fans too) to see that crap happens at every institution. Please don't sit there and think that Clemson is perfect. Y'all aren't. We aren't. It's always going to be like that, so stop trying to justify stupid "arguments."

Wow, not sure where the coot vs CU comparisons have any relevance, oh wait its a fan message board. Nevermind.

Glad Dabo made the right call, and I'm sure he's embarrassed that a kid he trusted with a second chance failed to live up to the faith he showed in him.

Don't care what his dad does to him, kid deserves it and probably a little jail time wouldn't be bad to drive home the point.

I have never asserted that Craig should have been kicked off the team for the first incident. I don't have a problem with "scond chances."

My problem was that Craig was not criminally charged. Dereliction of duty by Clemson campus PD, and Dabo interfering with the criminal process. (And, if anybody answers that the first girl didn't press charges - that person knows absoluetly nothing about the law.)

I think what he means is that in domestic violence situations it's not up to the people involved as to whether or not they press charges. I think that varies by state though. Typically if 911 is called or police are on the scene the charges are automatic and up to the DA or police or whatever. I assume that is for protection as many times (in most cases women) the person being abused will not want to press charges...battered wife syndrome, fear of more abuse, etc, etc. So if you are a USC fan and want to go the fanatic conspiracy route, then you would say the CPD or whoever should have brought the charges, but to protect the athletes they just let it go. At least I assume that is where the conversation was or is headed.
