Isaac Gross

He's listed at #34 in the final ESPNU150. Based on his performance in the high school all star game, this seems much more reasonable than the 3-star rating that he currently has with Rivals.

Channing Ward is listed at #48.

If he changed his committment to bama or lsu, he would instantly become a 4 or 5 star.

Rivals uses other factors besides just talent and potential in the NFL. The other sites only use ablity, and projection to the NFL for ranking purposes. Rivals uses academics and character into their rankings which can impact some players who should be ranked higher. i am not sure that Gross deserves to be higher than a 3 star but if he is truly 4 star talent and rivals says he is a 3 star, he may be a grade risk, or have character issues.

Not that you probably care but the only reason that Gross is rated a 3* is because of his size for his projected position. I can guarantee you he won't be a grade or character risk. He blew up all of the highly rated o-lineman at the UA allstar game. He's light in the pants for a DT but has one of the quickest first steps and a motor that never quits. He's just around 6' or 6'1" and only around 260-265 lbs.

I'm not sure because neither of us can be sure of any of our recruits including Channing or Denico. Just letting you know the reason behind Gross not catching that 4th *. At least that's the reasoning that these evaluators of talent on these sites are giving. Everyone was very impressed with him throughout the UA practice week and the game itself based on his performance. He kinda reminds me of a lighter Peria Jerry IMO but that's just me.

Makes sense. It happens ever year to a player who plays big but his size could prevent him from being a big time prospect in the NFL, and thats part of the Rivals rankings, how they project for the future in the NFL. If the kid can play, i dont think it matters what Rivals has him ranked.
