Stallings is hilarious

0 like 0 dislike

Let me start off by saying i think he a * and the whiniest coach ever. I mean who complains about another teams schedule (referring to UK). Its just so funny how he thinks his team is good. I guess that explains the 3 home losses and countless early tournament exits. He's been jealous of UK since he got there he needs to realize he's not a big time coach and never will be.

So I'll start off and say I think YOU are a pu**y and a one of the whiniest fans ever. You come on this board to cry and bitch about something OUR coach said and then call him a pu**y and "the whiniest coach ever"....You serious Clark? I see what you're trying to do here and I know I am doing my part in feeding the troll but somewhere you believe what you said and that worries me about your mental state. Take a knee, do the Tebow and sit a few plays out.

Jealous of uk? I'll take cheering for a coach who does things right and has never been in trouble with the NCAA all day over some slick, cheating, goes to a Final Four only to have it taken away slime ball.

Now wipe the spit off your chin, pull you tongue in and stop breathing with your mouth open. How in the HELL do you know how to work a computer? #thingsthatamazeme

What's not to bitch about? Kentucky has several Tuesday games and ZERO Thursday games. Doesn't matter because that pr$ck of a coach at UK will go another year without winning a title all the while buying the best players around.

Vandy has one 2-day turn-around, big whoop. UF and Bama has two, and Ol Miss. has 3. And one of UF's is a home-home which is scant different than a 3-day turn-around with both away.

Ol Miss and Bama both have (2) two-day T.A. scheduled where one is an away game. They have more of a beef than anybody.

Everyone knows this is due to TV and money. Inequalities due to TV and money....wow, news @ 11:00..... inequalities occur in pretty much ALL televised sports, and its not really relevent or worthwhile to even attempt to list them

Miss State also has 2 but that's not really the point. The point being that Kentucky hasn't had a single one in the past 2 seasons while all other SEC teams have had 2, or more. Were the situation reversed, I am confident that we would hear more complaining from Kentucky fans on this subject than the rest of the SEC combined due to fan numbers. In fact, from my observations of multiple message boards since the original article, it is Kentucky fans making the biggest deal about it even now. Go to the Main Rivals Basketball board and you will see that the subject thread is mostly contributions by Kentucky fans. Even this thread on a Vandy board was started by a Kentucky fan. In our War Room this subject was barely discussed except to point out how it apparently go under the skin of so many Kentucky fans. If this is such a non-relevant subject in your eyes, then maybe you should talk to your fellow Kentucky fans about shutting the hell up about it already. This crap has been going on for two weeks now.

There have been 2-day turnaround for games since this league began in the 30's.... And UK is not immune, we've had two (2) 2-day turn-arounds this year, one coupling St. Johns and UNC, just none in the SEC.

I see no worth in b!tchin' about something in the press, on an issue that all occurs behind the scenes with the school admins, ESPN, and the SEC. I guess that sounds better than just b!tching that UK gets more Tuesday games for TV....BUT if they make UK next year have ONE 2-day t.a., does that really make a friggin' difference....really?? Honestly?? rolleyes

If Stallings thinks it is such an injustice to play on Sat and then play on Tues, then why would he schedule games like that? On Saturday, Jan 28th the Dores play Middle TN, and then have to go on the road, and play the late game, at ARK, on Tues night. The SEC had made it an off weekend for Vandy, and yet, knowing he had to go on the road for a Tues night game, Stallings schedules an out of conference game. So, he chooses to schedule this way, and then cries to the media how unfair it is, if the SEC does it. Sheez, what a hypocrit.

Irish,

I agree the whole issue has been overblown by CKS and some others, but I would note that the scheduling within the SEC is of course different than having two-day turnarounds out of conference. The SEC is responsible for the schedule in conference, not the member schools, so the bar for parity is naturally set higher than when UK (etc) are directly negotiating with their opponents and TV stations. I think that ensuring that two-day turnarounds happen roughly equally often for each SEC school would be a minor scheduling improvement in the real world, but we would all benefit from the SEC avoiding even the appearance of impropriety. Anything that can effect the perception of the SEC in even one voter's mind, particularly on selection Sunday, should be addressed if possible. That's true even if the real impact on the teams involved is fairly minimal.

Reading is hard. The point, like others have said, is not that two-day turnarounds are unfair. The problem that Stallings tried to address is that it's unfair to have one league team not being subjected to the same issues that others are facing.

Just one outsider's opinion. The SEC tournament involves teams playing on zero day's rest. For some teams their next game is less than 24 hours after the completion of the game they just played. The NCAA tournament also has all games scheduled on a Thursday-Saturday or Friday-Sunday format.

The point is that all teams will end up having to play games involving a quick turnaround time. If anything, Stallings should be selling his players on the advantage this gives them come tournament time. He will be able to tell his team in the huddle that they have been tested before and have been in tough situations before, but they always found a way to pull through.

I can't think of a worse psychological tactic for a coach to use on his team than to publicly express concern about playing 2 games in three days. Maybe this is why Vandy never gets past the first weekend come tourney time.

If it were me, I'd be playing this to my team's advantage. That way, come tourney time you'll be able to look your team in the eyes and say "we've been down some tough roads before. If the SEC wants to wear us down, let's show them that it is impossible to wear Vanderbilt down."

Since your team will be the only one not have to played a Thursday-Saturday scenario in more than two full seasons, your opinion is not valid here. This isn't the argument anyway. The argument is that the SEC has the appearance of not treating all teams equal.

What is this, high school debate club (Hasty generalization!)? The validity of my argument does not hinge on whether or not I am a fan of a team that doesn't play on Thursdays. What you are implying in rejecting my arguments out of hand is that my being a UK fan makes be non-disinterested. Fine. You're allowed to reject my arguments based on who I am, but this says nothing about the validity of my arguments. Allow me to re-iterate in the form of a paraphrase: Kevin Stallings would do better to stop complaining about unfair treatment and start selling his team on the idea that playing a Th-Saturday schedule is going to give them the extra edge they'll need to win come tourney time. It makes him sound like a whiner to his players and sends the message to his team that they aren't able to cope with such a brutal schedule. Excuses.

Anything would be an improvement over what has been tried in Nashville for generations now.

If you were posting your argument on a Kentucky message board, then I would agree with you so to ME your argument IS invalid on this message board. Kentucky IS benefitting from this scheduling so the side your bs about how Stallings should spin it to our benefit is pretty weak IMHO.

2-day turnarounds occur in the SEC because not all teams can be playing on Tuesday with TV coverage. Typically the games on Tuesday have better draw, and ESPN has ALOT of say in how and who the SEC schedules when and at what time.....it's what happens when a conference sells TV rights for $2.25 billion, part of that whole "fairness and appearance of impropriety" is for a third party with the checkbook to decide.

The pain behind a 2-day TA is primarily when one of the games is away; perhaps the SEC can have more compassion with that in scheduling, but that likely won't eliminate it altogether.

You cannot prove that Kentucky is benefitting from scheduling because you cannot prove that there's a significant difference between playing on a Wednesday or a Thursday and then again on a Saturday, except by using ex post facto reasoning (we lost, so it must have affected us!).

You don't hear Calipari complaining about unfairly the SEC scheduled UK's games this year by having two games vs. Florida, two games vs. Vandy, and a road game against Miss. State all stacked on the back half of our schedule. Calipari will use it to motivate his time, not to bellyache and send the message to his team that the cards are stacked aginst him. Stallings is coming across as a whiner in this case to people outside of Nashville, no matter how Dores fans choose to take it.

BTW, the idea that the validity of my arguments changes based on what message board I'm posting on is utterly absurd. You can say that my arguments are weak, but that is different from successfully refuting them.

This board is terrible by the way. I won't be back.

I think the SEC is doing Stallings a favor by giving him the Thurs-Sat turnaround games. Simulates the NCAA tournament. Lord knows that he needs practice getting past that first round haha

Obviously the only thing Vandy has to wish for is to have "Stallings" the whiner re-grow his hair. LMAO!roll Believe me-Vandy is not in the same hemispgere as the Cats....and i am coming to Vandy to watch UK literally MURDER You! Then I am going to Nashville to "TIE ONE ONE" after the game and celebrate. maybe you all could have Stallings call that GOON "VITALE" and have them rub each others heads for some entertainment. I will have plenty of entertainment watching UK kick you trollers to teh curb.
