Paterno is just one of hundreds of people who failed to see that there might be a child molester in their midst. To focus on Paterno is to lose sight of the larger issue of how to protect kids from these creeps. There is a larger dynamic here than just Paterno, and trying to fix blame solely on him doesn't seem like the most useful exercise.
