I can't stand Andy Kennedy basketball

Every time I watch this And-1 basketball team they run zero offensive sets and just jack up stupid ass shots. This is a clear reflection on the head ball coach but hell theres no reason for me to complain anymore because nothing is going to happen

Not easy to find a good coach who can compete in the SEC when you are historically the worst basketball program in the SEC. I'm fine with what Kennedy is doing here. Season's not over yet. Kennedy's still a young coach. Considering how bad we are at basketball historically, I don't see what's so wrong with keeping him since it gives us a chance to compete.

I turned it off with several minutes left in the first half.

Fire Kennedy, keep Kennedy, who cares, really?

It has little or nothing to do with history. It has everything to do with a fan base which expects mediocrity and accepts it. Those low expectations carry over to the court where the players expect to lose and the coach has no reason to do any better.

Fact of the matter is we have the worst stadium and program in the SEC. I'm pretty sure we spend the lowest amount on basketball than anyone in the SEC. It could be argued that Kennedy has overachieved since he's been here. When you're a program like ours, you have to take steps to get where you want to be. Kennedy has done a decent job of that if you ask me. Anyway if you fire him, who are you going to get? You can't just fire someone and expect things to be better. Do you honestly thing we would have a better shot a making the tourney next year and over time if we fire him?

"The worse stadium"?
Surely you jest. Basketball ARENA and football STADIUM are two different things. As for worse ARENA I agree. The worse STADIUM lies in Starkpatch my friend. And next to last would be Vandy.
The fact is Ole Miss is raising funds to 'bowl out' the stadium and to build a new arena.
Coach Kennedy is doing the very best he can with what he has. The recruiting aspect of the program is improving. He knows he needs 'shooters' and I think he will concentrate all efforts to sign some. I certainly hope so. The free throw shooting is abysmal but the field goal percentage is decent albeit it could be better.
That's my $.02 worth. Eek

Two words blow your entire theory..... Rob Evans.

Coach Rob had LESS than nothing in place to win here when he arrived. When he left 6 years later (how long has AK been here?), he left us with 2 SEC Western Division Championships and 2 NCAA trips. Not to mention hard sell outs on all SEC games including mid-week games and a crowd support second to none.

It CAN be done and has been in the same time frame given Kennedy. Face it. He's just not getting it done. And he HAS underachieved in the time given him and the support given him by the administration. A football coach with the same results would be unemployed. See the last 2 for proof.

I think he's hit his "ceiling".

Just because he hasn't done quite as well as Evans doesn't mean he should be fired. Who exactly do you think we should get?

Vaught is right! And if you go to a game there can be 9000 bodies in the seats but only about 1000 people that actually have a pulse and most of them are the students.

lot of games. His teams play pickup basketball and panic for the last quarter. 4/5 of the players don't want the ball at the end. They can't hit free throws. They have actually played some defense and rebounded lately, which is highly unusual. I've been over AK for a couple of years now, and the results speak for themselves.

The right coach would matter.
