DGB and TX... LOL

0 like 0 dislike

They told him not to come in last night and when Mack said how about thursday evening and they said no again. They said that he could have them for only a 1 hour lunch today (a public in-school visit).

The rumor I read was that today at lunch they told Mack that which was expected, that texas was now eliminated.

Poooor texas. Mack getting dumped on by the Beckham family.

Tonight they have the Arkie assistant coaches in-home without Petrino.

Tomorrow night it is the Missouri coaches coming for an evening in-home visit.

After the Petrino issue arising yesterday, the rumors of his mother not being a fan of him and Arkansas taking their 5th WR yesterday, the math doesn't add up to him being the 100% Arky lock that most say he is.

I wouldn't doubt he chooses Arkansas in the end considering you all have been the front runner according to multiple sites, but word is he told the Texas coaching staff he's coming to Texas. Again, I don't know what to believe in the recruitment because how well the information has been hidden, but all our insiders have reported this news today. We shall see on the 1st....

Of course he will go to Tex-ass. Why would he want to put up large numbers in Bobby's offense while he could become another glorified blocker for Mack Brown?

Or he might be looking at the fact TeXass has won and played in a few NC games, something Ark cant say they have done in a looooong time.

Honestly, I think it's Arkansas or Missouri. Texas has way too much going against it: Texas' pathetic QB play lately, the fact they play in weak/dying conference (the Little-Big 12-ten), and Mack has consistently shown he does "less with more".

I think if DGB had already decided Mizzou then we would have probably already announced that; so the fact he continues to wait shows he might be heading to Arkansas -- or he truly still hasn't decided.

The Big 12 bowl record speaks for itself, and TCU and WV come to the table, who also won both of their bowl games. Dying? I think not. Mack does more with less?

Texas fan here..

A few posts earlier go against what I've heard last 24 hrs.

Texas was not declined an in home, the school visit was the plan all along.
I have not heard anywhere, from anyone, anything that suggests he told the Texas staff "I'm coming".

I honestly dont think yesterdays events had any impact on his decision.. just my opinion.

I'm sticking w/ Ark as the fave.. Mizzou & then Texas.

LOL, There isn't aa coach in America who does less with more than Mac Brown. FOURTEEN years at Tex-ass and he has 2 Conference titles. And that is playing in a dying weak conference. How can a coach who racks up 5 star athletes routinely accomplish so little? Yes he has a national title but he went the Cash Newton route and had a freak at QB in Vince Young. Other than that, he has pretty much been Stoops bag handler.

Compare his winning percentage over the past 13 years to any other coach in the country and then get back to me.

Compare strength of schedules to an SEC school and get back with me. Beating up on a Little 12 schedule won't impress many around here. There is a reason the SEC was ranked # 1, 2 and 3 going into the last week of the year. If Mac is winning that many games but very few conference titles, obviously OU ownes him.

And your Hawgs have won how many conference and national titles of recent? And your bringing up OU who hasnt won a NC in over 12 years. Please keep going.

We play in a Man's conference son. Not quite a two horse race like the Tex-ass-BlowU conference. You don't get SEC titles beating up on the Texas Tech's and Baylors of the world. Of course beating up on Baylor isn't working out for you very well lately roll

That is EXACTLY the point. We aren't exactly a school that harvest 5 star's like candy. Mac Brown does and in the little 12 that much talent should equate to a hell of a lot more than two confernce titles in 14 years. I'm surprised they have kept him.

I guess the recruiting gurus having Texas ranked #1, #2 all the time are way off then aye?
It has been interesting to see Texas ranked so well in recruiting year after year after year to see them fall the past two years. How does that happen...coaching?

Do you not consider the Cotton Bowl a major Bowl? We even have a 27-6 win over Texass in the Cotton Bowl in the 90's! The last 2 years we have played in the cotton and sugar bowl! What bowls has Texas played in the last 2 years? 21-5 the last 2 years with 3 of the 5 losses on the road against National Title game representatives! What is Texas record the last 2 years with much better talent and a weaker conference?

Well, we do have a National Championship under Mack Brown, and barring an injury to Colt McCoy, may have ended up with two. Mack also has an excellent bowl record.

But most importantly to recruits, Mack Brown and the Texas program put alot of players into the NFL. And Mack has had a boatload of 1st round picks.

In fact, as of June 9, 2010, 57 Longhorns currently play or coach in the NFL (most came from Mack Brown squads)

Couple of notables since we are talking about Arkansas and SEC:

Texas holds a 95-46-4 all time record against the Southeastern Conference
Texas holds 56 victories over Arkansas vs. 21 defeats, a record % of .727

The last meeting between Texas and Arkansas, Texas won the game 52-10

Just some information for this discussion which may be relevant.

InsideTexas Source: DGB Race Between Texas and Missouri with Arkansas 3rd

Per IT this morning:

Early this morning I had a chance to speak with our source at Hillcrest High School, where Texas wide receiver target Dorial Green-Beckham attends. Mack Brown is expected to be in Springfield, Mo. as early as this morning.

Pigs are funny?
Funny like being the most under-achieving football team in the history of college football? And with the biggest and best resources money can buy? And how many championships for all of that? You frickin' clowns epitomize ignorance and stupidity. Add in your arrogance and you have the classic ut fan. A national joke in the college football world and to stupid to know it.

You're living in the past!!

What's Texas record against Arkansas over the last 20 years

What's Texas record against the SEC over the last 20 years?

As far as 57 Longhorns currently play or coach in the NFL, sorta proves our point that NO COACH in America does less with more than Mack Brown!

How about telling ole Macky boy to give us our game that you guys owe us. You chicken sh!ts been running away from that game, putting it off everytime it comes up, and why? I think we play sometime in 2020, but we need a game this year.... and you girls owe us one......how about it? I mean that big power house football program you guys have here lately, would just run all over little old Arkansas.
You girls need a new Mascot... I think you girls could retire Bevo and get a Mascot that fits you.....Chesters Chicken!!!!!! Now that says TEXASS.

We are going to compete for titles the next several years with or without DGB. Hopefully it is with him but if he should choose Missouri then at least he is no threat to anybody there. Those guys are going to take massive SEC beatdowns for the next 5 years with or without DGB. We are fine either way.

That's one thing we can both agree on. He is no threat to anyone in the SEC at Missouri.

I am hearing that Arkansas State is making a huge last minute push for him..there is some connection there that Gus has rekindled! Word is that he is REALLY interested! I am hearing that ASU coaches have been in and out of Springfield numerous times under the radar. DGB has shown to be pretty humble and not real big about the spot light...this would not suprise me if this happened!!!!
