That's a shame about the fanbase, but I guess that is a function of being in the SEC. SEC fans are famous for "not caring" about basketball unless the team is top 25 or better and it's really kind of sad. I actually enjoyed ut being good in basketball because it made their fans accountable in hoops for the first time in my life. Now they suck again and their fans act like they don't have even have a basketball program. Extremely sad.
As for the game, it should make for an interesting contrast in styles. Anderson has always employed that chaotic defense to try and speed up the game and force turnovers. We are an interesting team in that regard because of John Jenkins. When teams press us, Jenkins typically gets wide open looks and teams then stop pressing us. That said, we turn the ball over A LOT and it might be worth the risk for the Hogs to get us out of the half court and prevent Festus Ezeli from going off.
Again though, this Razorback team really dominated us last year in complete BIZARRE fashion. It wasn't only Rotnei going off, it was the FLUKE game of a lifetime for Sanchez. I have seen that kid play about ten times and never seen him make some of the crap (from a VU fan's perspective) he was throwing up in that game. I know our fans remember and I know our players remember, but as you know, this is a new year, new players and a brand new coach at Arkansas so "remembering" probably doesn't mean squat....
Anywho, it's a huge game (they're all big for us) for both teams and I expect a big and rowdy crowd in Fayetteville.
PS-I've got a buddy that lives in Holiday Island (Eureka Springs) and I have to say that NW Arkansas is one of the most beautiful places I've been and unless you've been there, you probably had no idea Arkansas can be so pretty. This post was edited on 1/30 10:09 AM by CrazyVandyFan
