I see this argument all the time and it just doesn't hold water. He recruited those players and played them. Why should Mack Brown not get credit?

Chris Simms, Major Applewhite...? Mack Brown was 59-18 before VY took over as the starting QB. Now I'm not versed on Mizzou football and/or aTm football but when was the last time these schools had a 59-18 run?
Never said they were. Texas is one of the top 5-7 programs in the country currently and historically...hell, even Sooners agree with that buddy.

Then you are greatly misinformed...
I had a feeling you weren't big into reading.
You were probably one of the dolts chanting SEC at some point this year weren't you? Oh and you really got me there with your comment...that burns!laugh
I'm sure your entire post was full of profound statements, but I'm not spending more than 20 seconds reading message board material.

You seem like a level headed dude, so lets just leave it at that.

Looks like the SEC is expecting MU to be the conference standard bearer in wrestling . . . which is good . . . since we're the only school with wrestling.

What's so special about Texas? Its not like they are in a class with Oklahoma or Alabama in football. I don't see a dime's worth of difference between Texas and aTm, except aTm is the land grant school.

"...Athletically, who would you rather have...? Texas, Texas A&M or Mizzou..."

Of course....you needed to qualify that question...

There is no doubt Texas has been better athletically, than has MU....Texas has been a "have"....a school that wins at a high level more often than not...

MU has not...

Yet is is MU that was sought after as a partner....not Texas

not by the SEC....not by the ACC....not by the PAC 12....not by the Big 10

What you guys cannot get thru your Bevo heads is that it takes more than wins to be sought after as a partner....

(although, I must take this time to point out that a school that now generates over 130 million annually for it sports has done LESS with more - in terms of football NC's than any school in the Nation....

2 NCs over the last 40 plus years?.....I would guess your program has generated MORE cash than any other over that period...but I digress)

Along with the sleeze, that permeated the old, inbred SWC Conference, Texas hastened the exit of Arkansas.....

Along with hypocritical nebraska, and with OU, Texas held out for an unequal revenue sharing plan that - while it did not impact MU, certainly adversely inpacted the lesser lights of the Big 12

You helped hasten nebraska's exit.....thus ending a 100 year plus rivlary with kansas, and others....

Your AD helped push Kevin Weiberg out the door, and hastened the hire of Lapdog Beebe....All Weiberg wanted to do was stop the constant bickering of the old SWC programs & start a Conference network - DeLo$$ wanted no part of thr latter...

TAMU has always thought their station in football life was more elvated than did others but you screwed them as well with the first offering then dropping and offer for the LHN...

Texas after preaching "brotherhood" took the opportunity to explore options to leave....and attempted to broker a deal that would have screwed the rest....

Your programs are very good - but they should be in a state that boasts the poulation and resources as does Texas....Your school is excellent....your campus is beautiful....Austin is one of my favorite cities...

but as a potential atheltic partner Bevo is college kryptonite....

because in the end, its all about Bevo, and nobody else....

As you sow, so shall you reap.....so, enjoy West Virginia...

you just about got a whole new table to play a few hands of your favorite game.....f*ck your buddy

Tiger Gary,

You spent way too much typing nonsense that I'm not going to waste time reading. I'm sure it is the usual banter claiming that Texas is to blame for everything and what not, while also stating that Nebraska and aTm left because of Texas.

It has been stated too many times and regurgitated too many times no one cares anymore. The Big 12 now has many of the things Nebraska and aTm blamed Texas for not having even though those two hypocritical athletic departments voted against it back in '95-'96.

Blame away, I don't give a rip...I, unlike many Big 12 supporters, actually wish Mizzou well. The fans that chanted SEC whenever they could can eat a d***, but the school/athletic department is aces in my book.

If you had read what I wrote, you would have seen I did not blame Texas alone for the break up of the old Conference...

but your school played a big role....ignore that if you wish

I loved the old Bog 8 - the shotgun marriage of the Big XII should have been annulled...

I'll make it simple for you - MU feels, championships that will be won or not, they will be among like minded schools....like they once were

Thanks for the back handed compliment.....

I'll make sure to dumb it down for you...

Anything we can do to allow fans of such a great program such as Texas to show up on our Board and share their their thoughts, with MU....

Gosh, we're just so grateful for the consideration you give us...

Hey, here's how we can keep it short.....let's talk the stregnths of Texas quarterbacking
