Maybe he's not that good. His teammate, Jared Collins, is committed to Arkansas, and two other teammates are listed among Oklahoma's top 30 2013 recruits, so coaches have scouted his team. If he's not on Arkansas' radar it's because he hadn't shown to be worthy.

Thompson is not on the Oklahoma top 30 list for 2013, so I imagine he's not a high propect. This highlight video might be in hopes of catching the eye of lesser schools.

I looked on all the scouting sites and there's not a profile for this guy. We know his team has been scouted (teammate committed to UA), but no one has bothered listing his forty time. In the video, he looks decent (speed wise) sometimes, but most of his work is plugging holes rather than chasing down people.

What I'm saying is that his team is heavily scouted (2 junior teammates are among top 30 in Ok.) but no one mentions him. There are a handful of guys talked about and profiled, but no one else on the team is, and it's because they're not potential FBS players.

I bet many players on that team can throw together a video of great plays, but that doesn't mean they should be "on the radar". This guy isn't "on the radar" of Arkansas, or Oklahoma, or Tulsa, or Rivals, or Scout, etc., and probably for good reason. I'm guessing Thompson has thrown out this highlight video in hopes of attracting the East Oklahoma Techs of the football world, but he's not on Arkansas' radar because he's not good enough.

I honestly think our coaches know what they're doing. Whatever "on the radar" means, I'm sure they're giving Thompson whatever attendion or notice that he deserves. They are not being neglant and letting a great one go unnoticed.

And I think the first step in a lot if not most cases is the contact between college staffs and high school coaches. That is a far better link then rivals or Scout or anyone else and most college coaches try to keep a good relationship with the high school coaches. They do not sit around and wait for lists from people who know far less than the coaches in the trenches.
