the BCS will die before they take a bid away...Memphis got exactly what we wanted...a basketball conference with a BCS bid...they also have our old rivals UL, UC, and Marquette.

we'll now have an extra 6-7 million to spend on football every year...plus Fred Smith has promised 100 million over 10 years to for a new BE TV Network...plus the Liberty Bowl will officially shift to the Big East.

there is no more Tiger High...only Memphis from the Big East.

If you look at the proposed Big East football teams for 2013, it appears to be all the teams that made up C-USA a few years ago. With Pitt, Syracuse, and WVU getting out before Memphis arrives, football in the Big East (what little there was) is dead.

Basketball on the other hand will arrange for Memphis to play better competition. However, they were already recruiting good basketball players and dominating C-USA. Could playing in the Big East in basketball actually hurt the tigers?

It's one of the easiest places in the country to recruit. Their problem now is coaching. Pastner was not ready for prime time. He should have gone with Calipari to Kentucky. Maybe with Big East affiliation they can hire a big time coach. As for football, the Big East is still a step up from CUSA.

Good for Memphis. Not so good for us programs that recruit the Memphis area.

I'm in full agreement with you. No longer will there be 11,ooo fans at the Liberty Bowl for home games -- it will be a whopping 17,500!

I think West Virginia is bolting for the big 12. If Pitt and Syracuse also leave what will happen to the big east? You can't blame Memphis for leaving with all the others that left Cusa for the Big East.

Let's not use the word Memphrians. It is a derogatory term for black people in Memphis.
