Sooner-
I doubt seriously that I would want a mechanical engineering degree right now in this economy so no I would not trade yours for mine. UT has a 57 percent grad rate because it is a lot tougher than most to get a degree there. The reverse is also something to think about. I knew many people that wanted to get a certificate to be a peace officer something UT does not teach. Vocational tech and general studies. So yes it could be said that those schools are lax in graduating a lower quality student who cannot get a 4 year degree due to laziness or lack of ability. Some due to finances. But like I told my niece get a job and go to school if money is your problem or get into a work study program.
But when looking at Nebraska so called 'academic' players years ago, most were in general studies. That is a crib course major. Even the Huskers have a higher grad rate than OU. Since any school has a cross section of enrollees, OU has no excuse for their players except to say they take losers.
By the way Okie St has a 65 percent grad rate so we all know what that means when compared to OU. The sharpest pencil in the box is not in Norman. This post was edited on 2/11 11:56 AM by tahoeman
