Too many "hit piece" media guys nowadays. Guys like Scarbinsky will trash either school just for the website hits. Josh Moon has been known to attack either school on occasion but mostly spews his venom at Alabama. Neal Mcready was a notorious Bama basher and that's why he can't find work in the state anymore.

Media is out of control in this state.

After reading that article, it is easy to see why this clown writes for a paper nobody has ever heard about. Complete bammer homer with zero objectivity

Facts hurt you, don't they?
After reading your comment, it is easy to see why you are a barner homer with zero objectivity.

That is not a media site, it is someone's blog not really the press. Nothing more than his opinion.

That's the point, the article Moon wrote was his opinion.

Incorrect.

Bill Rice writes for the Montgomery Independent. It is NOT some random blog.

Very good article. Certain people will disagree because it doesn't tell them what they want to hear but if you want your own school treated fairly in the media then you need to expect all schools to be treated fairly. If not, you're kidding yourself because writers are sometimes honest and writers don't just sometimes do the right thing. They either always do it or you can NEVER count on them doing it.

Josh Moon isn't a guy you can count on. He's a half-truth teller which is a liar in my book and a big time "me guy" and that includes the negative hit pieces he writes about Auburn. He's even worse on the radio as he tries to come across as an elitist but rather sounds more like a whiny tit. You should hear this tit when someone disagrees with anything he says on the radio.....he pouts like a freaking 4 year old.

It all comes down to what you think is right. Everyone knows that, right now, Alabama has over 90 players if you combine the ones that will be there for spring practice and the ones expected to show up for fall. So, in a sense, there are players that are competing for a roster spot this spring. If they don't measure up then they will transfer or get a medical hardship. saban has done this the past three years. This is not currently against NCAA rules but other conferences and other SEC teams don't do it. Is it the right thing to do? It depnds on what you think is the charge of college athletics and people have different opinions on that.

I don`t agree with Josh on a lot of his comments and stances including some of this article. But in reading Rice and listening to him on the radio this week; he came across as a saban homer who was just intent on attacking Josh and others who had written articles about saban. Fair is fair and I could care less for either of them or their stances in this case. A question for anyone on here; I can`t remember anyone who actually took a greyshirt at bama. I remember these two players this year that were told at the last minute basically that that was their only option or get lost and a player from Etowah High last year who found out the day before signing day that he wasn`t even being offered a greyshirt. I remember Auburn offering a greyshirt to 2 lineman back 5-6 years ago but they knew several weeks ahead what the situation was. Both accepted and later got a schollie but don`t think either stayed long enough to play or never played much.

Alabama handed out several greyshirts and for some players it is the best option, it has worked for players under Shula and Saban. John Parker Wilson and former starting RT Drew Davis recieved greyshirts at Alabama, Ivan Matchett, Ronald Carswell, Wilson Love all recieved greyshirts at Alabama! Alabama has handed out several greyshirts and not one single time have they not held up their end of the bargain with a scholarship to a player who recieved a greyshirt! Alabama Legacy Danny Woodson Jr was suppose to come as a greyshirt last year but when Duran Carter didn't get eligible it allowed Woodson to take his spot and go ahead and enroll instead of taking the greyshirt. That is the thing about Taylor and Philon, if they would have took the greyshirt and listen to Coach Saban instead of all these folks bashing Bama, there is a solid chance one or both would have eventually been allowed to come in with this class instead of greyshirt if/when some other signee was not able to get eligible! Nothing is wrong with giving greyshirts as an option for some prospects who otherwise would not have the option of playing for a school like Alabama!

Pretty solid post clong. I listen to Moon on the radio at times too and he's just a whiner imo and that includes things he's said about Saban and Chizik as well as things he said about TT. He railed on Chizik for not saying if or why certain players were kicked off Auburn's team shortly before or after your game vs Northwestern. He felt he had a right to know and he really laid into Chizik accusing him of not really caring about those players.

If you've spent anytime listening to Moon on the radio, you too have heard him act like a little girl when any caller or guest on their show disagrees with his take or opinion on any subject. He literally can't handle ANY criticism. Did you hear the show where the Prattville HS assistant coach called in and challenged Moon on his reporting of that story? I literally thought Moon was going to cry.

The guy is a self-important turd whether he's ripping on Bama or Auburn imo. I missed the show with Rice but I would have loved to hear their back and forth if he told Moon he was off especially if he went after him.

Agree; Josh could do a little growing up. Just gets too self absorbed at times I believe. Then others he can make good points at times as well.
