VanGorder's Auburn defense

0 like 0 dislike
I think Auburn made a big upgrade at defensive coordinator and should show on the field this coming season but I am not real familiar with what kind of defense he will install on the college level...I know he is a 4-3 guy but for anyone who knows what is his style and what did he do at Georgia as far as ranking vs the Conference/Country? Does he run an aggressive or a bend but don't break style, does he blitz alot or is he more of the type to disguise and complicate coverages?
Personally I think how Auburn comes along at LB will impact just how much the defense will improve. Will BVG try to play more size at LB, how will he improve that position going forward?

If the AU secondary is soft he will protect it and play more prevent. He is a powerful motivator and makes the best of the talent at hand.

Agree it was a great hire but it might be late 2012 or 2013 before you see better play imo. It just takes time to learn a new scheme and Auburn's D is still pretty young but I don't doubt it will improve under BVG.

I heard somewhere that he like bigger LB's too and I thought that was interesting.
