... in basketball. Great second half effort by the Horns today! Now, let's make beating K State a new trend for 2012 and beat them in football as well! Please?

Great win for da Horns! K State is a very good bball team.

This team still has a chance to make the tourney w 6 freshmen. Keep it up Young Guns.

The Longhorns should be fun to watch for the next couple of seasons.

Yeah, I'm excited to see such a young group making strides like they are, even if it's not always pretty. I liked Barnes' teams best when they were a group of players that weren't leaving early and had time to build chemistry and stability. Seems like the past few years we haven't had that all come together, but with only 2 seniors on the team and only one guy who really looks like he'd even consider leaving early (though I'm hoping J'Covan stays too), plus what is supposed to be a great freshman class next year, the next couple years could be fun. Heck, this year is pretty fun. I'm still hoping we finish strong so we can make the NCAA tourny and possibly crash a higher seed or two before our exit.

I see one sure win and one sure loss remaining for us. The rest are tossups. We need to win 4/6 to have a winning conference record. If we can finish strong though, we have a chance to slip into the 5th spot ahead of KSU who has a harder remaining schedule.

For what it's worth, Bracketology (on ESPN) had us as one of the "next 4 out" last week.

For those of you who aren't familiar, they do their predicted brackets along with a list of the "last 4 in" (the teams that barely made it in), the "first 4 out" (the 4 teams right outside) and the "next 4 out" (the 4 teams just beyond "right outside").

After the win in College Station on Monday (along with other teams wins and losses) they moved us up to the last spot of the "last 4 in" and into the bracket.

So, at that point they had us in. Granted, that definitely doesn't mean that we don't have to keep winning. I think the implication is that, if we beat only the teams that we should be favored to beat we will be right on the cusp. That definitely doesn't mean we'll get in, since other teams wins and losses play a huge role, especially when you're on the cusp.

Anyway, I guess my point is... we CAN make it in, but I don't think we can feel absolutely certain about it without winning all but one of our last games. More losses and we drop into "probably"... "maybe"... or "maybe not".

There always are surprise teams that make it in and surprise teams that get left out.

but, KSU didn't shoot one single FT in the 2nd half. How would UT fans feel if that happened to them?

Again, I am not blaming the officials for KSU's loss. The fact that they scored twice as many points in the 1st half as the entire 2nd half is TERRIBLE!!

Any way, good luck moving forward in the season. Looks like KSU is looking at the NIT this year. Good luck!!!
