Cuonzo is a good coach whether you like it or not. While the jury is still out on Dooley, he seems to be progressing the proper way.

And I had my issues with Pearl but pearl did leave cuonzo some players (not 5 first rounders maybe, but players). Serrano will deserve some time.

Trae Golden is serviceable but certainly isn't elite in the league. Buzz left Pearl more than Pearl left Cuonzo.

Joe puts more stock in how a player is rated in HS by rivals than what they have actually done in college. Not a single player on Tennessee's team this year has made a notable contribution since entering college prior to this year. But Joe says they have talent, once again his ignorance for all to see.

No, you guys are the ones who used star ratings in high school to justify memphis beating us twice, even if those same highly rated players aren't beating anyone else.

I, OTOH, am not saying our players should be beating duke....but we should be beating austin peay (!), oakland, CC, etc.

when last years team (on which none of the current players could manage a starting slot) lost to them at Thompson-Bolling? Austin Peay was a disappointment, but so was last years team losing to a DII Indianapolis. Of course last years team had a first round NBA draft choice.

LMFAO........Last years 19-15 really wasn't a tournament team and didn't deserve to be there as the 30 point loss to a weak ass Michigan team proved. This is probably better than last years team and making the tourney has so much to do with the selection committee not whether they deserve it. UGA made the NCAA over bammar last year with a worse record and losing twice to bammar in the last week.

This year's team is better than last year's team? Wow!

Certainly not talent-wise. But this year's team is probably playing better as a team right now than last year's team was at the same point in time. The wheels had come off last year's team by this time. This year's team plays far better defense. This year's team is much more physical inside even though it's a smaller team in the post.

if this years team winds up with a better record overall than last years after they lose Hopson and Harris. But I'm sure according to Joe that wont be because of good coaching and getting the most out of the players you have. Yep, that would be funny. Cuonzo to end his first season with a better record than the grillmaster's last season and with less, younger overall talent.
