Brilliant Martin coaching move: Starting Skyler McBee

Question

Anyone with even the lowest basketball IQ can see that McBee has played much better since starting. He's a more reliable shooter and his defense has improved greatly, but it's joyously obvious that most of all, his confidence has risen to new heights. Being allowed to get into the flow of the game seems to be just what the doctor ordered for McBee.

A great coaching move by Martin. We're lucky we've got him

I agree, he has made a tremendous difference. I actually thought McBee was a waisted scholly and would never be a real contributor. I guess I came down with the Joe Vols doom and gloom disease. But there is a cure.

It's hard to figure out if you are serious with your posts. I would hope that someone that thinks so highly of his own opinion would know better than to make such an extremely ignorant post as to suugest the coach might not do any better in early season 2 than he did in season 1.

Yes, because it should have been obvious to anyone that McBee, who UT fans affectionately have referred to as McBrick (and not w/o some justification), and who began the season as a slow white boy who could not play a lick of defense, would instantly be a better shooter and defender if only his coach would make him a starter.

Kudos to CCM for recognizing McBee's growth as a player, and that he was ready for the role now, not earlier in the season.
