Vols COULD finish 2nd in regular season

0 like 0 dislike
Of course I want UT to concentrate on one game at a time, but I don't have to and can see UT has already played the toughest part of their SEC schedule. The toughest game left is a home date with Vandy, which the Vols should win. Right now Florida stands at 7-3, but has games remaining at Arkansas, at VAndy and UK in Gainesville. If they lose two of those and finish tied with UT, UT wins the tiebreaker. Vanderbilt has games at UK, at Georgia and at UT. They lose two of those games. Miss St, also 6-4 like Vandy has 4 of its last 6 games on the road, with one of its home games being against UK.

I realize it's a big IF. IF we win out(with our schedule it isn't a reach), it is probable we will be the #2 seed in the SEC tournament.

As you said, UT owns the tie breaker over UF and if the Vols beat VU and wind up in a tie with Vandy, most likely UT would have the tie breaker over VU virtue of the sweep of UF.

Vandy still has to go to UK. If they lose there and in Knoxville, that will be 6 losses for them. Of course we could lose at Alabama and/or at LSU, but not likely. Both of those teams are reeling.

I'll hold off on more Martin commentary until his next recruiting class.

even if they dont do that, but I know that wont stop you.

You're the only one that seems to think Martin had to come in and win the SEC his first year.

I hope for the absolute best scenario but if they finish the year respectably, do well in the SECT and make some noise in the NIT I would be fine with that for a first year.

I am not sure what makes you think your opinion is more relevant or better than others.

Actually, any informed observer would say Martin has already proven he knows what to look for in a recruit. Josh Richardson is going to be a really good SEC player. Stokes is a big time impact player.

I've spoken to a lot of people that forgot more than you will ever know about the game that say Martin's a really good coach.

Well, UF is now up 3 games with 4 to go, and still have games left with Auburn and Georgia. I don't think UT is going to get that #2 seed. but, if the Gators beat Vandy, #3 could be doable.

But please don't. I don't want you on our side of the bracket. Seriously.
