OFFICIAL POWERMIZZOU.COM PRE-GAME SPOT IN TEMPE

Question

I have spoken with the manager of Blondie's in Tempe. It is a huge sports bar that started in Vegas and opened up in Tempe just over a month ago. They have 6500 square feet and tons of TVs.

Blondie's has agreed to be PowerMizzou.com's official home for the Insight Bowl. Here's how it works:

On the day of the game, Tuesday, December 28th, Blondie's will designate half of its bar for Mizzou fans. At the door, you will pay a flat charge to get in.

For $40, you will get all the appetizers you can eat and all the draft beer you can drink.

If you're not a beer drinker, for $50, you will get all the appetizers you can eat, plus all the liquor/mixed drinks you can drink from the bar.

At first blush, some will think this is pricy. But think about it. The party will start at about 1 p.m., a full seven hours before kickoff. The bar is a 2-block walk from Sun Devil Stadium. So, have breakfast at your hotel, do what you want in the area in the morning. Come to Blondie's about 1 or 2 p.m. You will get, in effect, two meals and all the drinks you want for that price. Figuring you're there four hours, that probably six beers. That right there is going to run you 45-50 bucks plus tip. In addition, you get to hang out with Tiger fans and PowerMizzou.com members for a full day before the bowl game.

There is no minimum number of people that have to show up for this. However, we've already got at least 25-30 who have said they're interested. I figure we'll get a lot more now that we've got something nailed down. In addition, there will be a lot of locals who are Mizzou fans who are going to come in once Blondie's starts pimping itself as the home of our pre-game party.

Let's make this work guys. Please post here to express interest, tell me if you've got anything you think should change, etc. I'm telling you, it's a good deal. You get your own supplies to tailgate, you'll not only spend this much money, but you're responsible for cleaning up and taking care of everything. Not here. It's all taken care of for you. Pay a flat fee at the door, get a wristband and you're set.

Let's do this up right and show these guys the support our site will have in Tempe.
