basketball season as to what might or might not happen in two years from now? I guess this years demise isn't going to his liking so he is now trying to save face by talking the future which nobody knows what will happen and he can't be proven wrong, as of yet that is.

It's not about predicting how the season will go....it's about commenting on what I've seen so far. So far, ~.500 and a poor OOC record doesn't work for me. But if we end the season on a run and bring in some top notch recruits, I will feel better about the program's direction.
I don't think either will happen, ultimately, but I would love to be wrong, just like I'd love to have been wrong about fulmer, buzz, green, dooley, etc.

Right now you have no f'ing idea whether or not you were right about Dooley.
Please for once answer my question: Did you peg Fulmer in 1992?
If you didn't call it then, you should really STFU about your prowess as a predictor. You're nothing more than a knee-jerk hack

In 1992 I had a wait and see approach with fulmer, like I do with any new coach. However, he had a bit more of a pedigree than dooley - he was actually a coordinator, good rep as a recruiter, success in limited spell as interim HC, beat good teams. So I at least had hope. Then when things started to turn it was pretty easy to see it wasn't going to end well. Only problem was too many UT fans didn't want to see it and made excuses, despite my warnings. Then they came around eventually.

He claims to have been right on Jerry Green, but Green resigned in March of 2001 and Rivals.com didn't start operations until May of 2001. Since Buzz was only here 4 years Joe was only on the bandwagon with 95% of the fan base. Joe is such a tool.

Sorry Joe but there is only a minuscule amount (if that many) of UT fans here that could listen to crap of predictions.

The thing with Green wasn't on rivals. It was on the old gridscape. Green was actually the first coach-topic I posted about on message boards.
For your own benefit, you might want to get clarification from me before you do a lot of research. Would save you some time.

You're so FOS. You really think you were the first one to make the call on Fulmer??
"I had a wait and see approach with fulmer, like I do with any new coach"
Any new coach? You haven't given Cuonzo any time. You have given Dooley very little time considering it seems you aren't too informed on the state of the program when Dooley got it.
What are your education and athletic credentials?

I have no credentials. Just rely on gut/instinct. But objectivity helps, as well.

Well isn't that convenient. You sound more and more like reTarder every day when I challenged him about going to the UT-bammar game this year and where he supposedly tried to buy his bammar gear in Knoxville.
By the way you are no Nostradomus and nobody here could give a damn about your lame ass predictions, other than to make fun of you like we do or reTarder.

Sure I have. Like I say, sure is convenient to make claims that you made there on this board. Like reTarder, no one here to refute your claims.

I understand gut instinct, but I don't understand how you claim objectivity at the same time. If you're going by a gut feeling, there is no way you can also claim you're being objective. You either go by one or the other when decisions are made. You made a claim that Martin wouldn't survive here 3 years, and I quote 'would not get UT to the NCAA during that 3 years.' That may be 'gut instinct' telling you that, but there is no way you 'objectively' can make that statement 8 games into the man's first season as coach, especially considering he had one returning underperformer as a starter, and a returning roster that had not seen emough playing time, especially as a unit, to develop any sort of team cohesion or chemistry.

I remember him bashing Fulmer during the NC year. How anyone finds fault with 13-0 and a NC I'll never know, but he was a hoot. Every coach in the SEC was better than Fulmer. Fulmer was lucky. etc, etc, ad nausem. Joe attended UT and Vandy(so he's said) and lives in Memphis(or did). He bashed Green even when he was winning 20 . As far as I know he's never liked any UT coach. I'm pretty sure Joe is a Candy fan.

I didn't bash fulmer during the NC year. I did criticize certain performances during the year that I thought were substandard (mainly our pass defense in certain games), but I didn't bash the coaching.
I didn't really start to be critical of the overall coaching until after the NC when he promoted sanders and the subsequent alex brown 5 sack game the following year. Then 2000 happened, then 2001 SECCG game happened, other SEC schools brought in superior coaches, and I was one of the few vol fans who saw it for what it was.
I did criticize green quite a bit because I didn't think he did enough with the talent that o'neill had built up for him. Then his own recruiting took over and we slipped. He had to go, for reasons much more important than the kmart thing.

that's when all of us could start to see the slide. You were'nt ahead of the curve there at all. Some of us were just trying to be positive and supportive while you were your negative self. And yes, I know you were critical during NC year, that's what you do. I have personally seen you say very little positive about UT.

I joined in 98. So this place was called Gridscape. I couldnt remember. I used to only get on during football season and there was a couple of yrs that I never logged in. Has Green really been gone since 2001! I have lived in my current house for nearly 12 yrs now! I have an 11 yr old and a 5 yr old and so much seems like a blur.

Shannon Terry and Greg Gough from Nashville started Alliance Sports which began with Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee Web sites and then expanded to other schools. In May 2000, Terry sells Alliance to Rivals Network, a Seattle-based online sports network, for $3 million. Rivals.com raised about $70 million in venture funding, filed for a $100 million IPO in 2000, but hit the wall during the dot-com bust. Rivals was auctioned off in a liquidation sale to a group of Tennessee investors headed by Shannon Terry in 2001. The new Rivals site shifts strategies and the company starts emphasizing college football recruiting. Yahoo purchased Rivals.com in June of 2007.

I just dont remember that. Is it possible that other sites were bought out and merged? Ive always had the DC moniker. I chose it for the alliteration with KC and the Sunshine Band and the visual image of Davy Crockett and the Pride of the Southland Band. Hence DC (Davy Crockett) and the UT Band was born. I even remember being in my office when our sales guy came over and talked me into signing up. I was on an NT 4.0 server checking our credit card transaction process and stopped to sign up. But for the life of me I dont remember the name of the site! VolQuest has a ring to it that none of those mentioned do so maybe thats why its forgettable.

It was definitely AllianceSports.
SHANNON TERRY served as CEO and President of Rivals.com prior to being acquired by Yahoo!. Terry's responsibilities included corporate strategy, new product development and day-to-day management of the leading internet site in college sports, high school sports and college recruiting. Through his influence and vision, Terry led the rapid growth of Rivals.com to more than 180,000 active subscribers and 2.5 million unique visitors per month via a national network of 300 college, high school and recruiting reporters generating in excess of 500 content items per day. Rivals.com achieved more than 50% annual growth revenue since the company's inception in 2001. Terry was named to the SportsBusiness Journal's Forty Under 40 in 2006 and 2007 and was named to the trade publication's 20 Most Influential People in Online Sports (ranked No. 11) list in February 2007. Terry spearheaded Rivals.com expansion and delivery via other outlets syndicating a variety of its content to major media outlets such as Yahoo! Sports, AOL Sports and Sirius Satellite Radio. In 1996, Terry co-founded AllianceSports, the first premium subscription network of college team and recruiting sites i
