Forgetting Chandler Parsons?

0 like 0 dislike
I've been amazed watching the last few telecasts of Gator BB in which the announcers talked about Walker & Boynton "LEADING" UF to the Elite 8 last year. It's true both guys played well most of the seasoon and in the tournament, but the difference between this year's team and last year's, IMO, is Chandler Parsons. After all he was the SEC player of the year!!! While Young & Murphy have different games than Macklin & Tyus, I see that as a fairly equal trade off. Boynton & Walker are the constants. And Beal is an emerging superstar. But the main difference is last year we had Parsons - his leadership, his intensity on both ends of the floor and the match-up problems he presented to opposing defenses. With Yuegette & Rosario in the rotation, this year's team has a chance to be successful in the post season. But to me Chandler Parsons was the main reason we made a deep run last year and Gator fans and those idiotic announcers should not forget how valuable he was.

Maybe it's just the stupid announcers, but every Gator basketball fan I know loves Chandler. He's making quite a reputation for himself with the Houston Rockets now, too.

Guy is a top 5 Florida basketball player, all-time.

We certainly miss his size this year.

Bingo.

Parsons, Macklin, and even the sometimes maddening Tyus provided great size. Size we are sorely lacking this season. I'd be surprised if we survived the first weekend of the tourny. Very surprised. Hope I'm wrong.
