I have no problem with Joe. I disagree with him on both Martin and Dooley, but I have to say some of TOS have UT fans that spew more vitriol against those 2 coaches than Joe does. Who knows? He may prove to be right on both, although I don't think he will. We'll get a better gauge of Dooley after the 2012 season. I know Martin can coach; we have to see if he can recruit at this level. If Joe proves to be right on either call in a couple of years, I will apologize. If he proves to be wrong, I expect him to do the same.

I have a broken watch that's right twice a day. He does this with every coach ZZ. Always has. And even when he's proven wrong, he still tries to find faults. He'll always have a ready list of coaches who're better(ie; Ferentz, Tedford, Stoops, etc). I'm just surprised he has'nt been carrying the banner for Franklin yet. His favorite team. He said Vandy would win the SEC one day 'it's inevitable'. lol! Did'nt say when, but I'll just go ahead and predict we will have 2 more ice ages before that happens.

1) I never said it was "inevitable" VU would win the SEC. However, the tide is moving toward stricter academics, fewer scholarships, a lot of variables that work in VU's favor. I don't see it in our lifetime, but in a couple generations it's perfectly reasonable to think it could happen.

2) I never had a "ready list" of coaches better than fulmer. I never brought up other coaches. I discussed fulmer (as it is a UT site) and people were obsessively asking me who would be better. So I finally provided a list....and, coincidentally (or perhaps not), each of those coaches are still gainfully employed at their profession, unlike others who can't get a job at Kansas.

DB, I dont agree with Joes quick assessments but I do like it that he posts here. He stirs it up and we definitely see an increase in posts. It beats goat molesting hour or the drive bys from other fans.

There's a chance Vandy could win it but it's astronomical no matter what the NCAA does to tighten academic qualifying or scholarships. (imo) Vandy will never be as good as the better SEC teams. They will beat one occasionally but they wont beat them all which is what they would have to do in order to win it all. I was'nt sure how the list came up but I'll take your word on that. I dont know why Fulmer is'nt coaching anymore Joe, but he probably could be if he ever got serious about landing a job.

It depends on what time horizon we're talking about. If you're looking out 30, 40 years then it's probably not possible. But circumstances change. Army/Navy used to be powerhouses. But now there's no hope for them. You just don't know what other changes are coming in the next few decades, but it can't be denied it's moving in favor of places like Vandy that emphasize academics, and other insitutions that will benefit from fewer and fewer scholarships.

Make no mistake - we will see further scholarship reductions from 85. That part is inevitable, imo. That will benefit the Vandy's of the world, and us for that matter.

I would have to see all that to believe it. The TV money has gotten so good in college ball it wouldnt make sense to do anything to ruin the entertainment value of it like restrict roster size or up academic standards. They will hear from Jessie and Jessie dont play.

I'm quite certain if you had been a Hawkeye fan you would have declared Ferentz a bad hire in Year 2 of his tenure, since he went 1-10 his first season (which was worse than Fry's previous season) and could only improve to 3-9 his second season.

IMO no one should ever be kicked out of a message board because you don't like what they post.

Joe was right about Fulmer, there's no doubt about that.

But he's extrapolated that in a huge way...

No, I would say you and Joe are proud members of the Legions of the Miserable. Couple of real Debbie Downers when it comes to UT sports.
