Say whatever you want.
Mizzou will be in the S E C Jult 1 2012
Mizzou may not win 100 conference games the next 100 years and that is ok.
Mizzou could go 3-9 in football and 16-15 in hoops every year and still make more money than a Mountain West k state that goes 10-2 and plays in the Las Vegas Bowl every year.
Texas and Oklahoma are not going to appear on your schedules every year in the very near future. They will go to the PAC and I bet negotiations are going on.
When they go, I will not go to the kstate board and gloat...say whatever you want....but even if Mizzou is the bottom of the S E C, it is still a better place to be than whatever future k state and west virginia have in store for them.

MJK,
At this point, I think the Big XII has the critical mass to survive 2 more defections - even if they are UT and OU. The remaining teams will be much like the Big East was: High enough profile to be considered part of the BCS inner circle, but not good enough to come close to the big boys in revenue. This will still make them a form of second class citizen.

West Virginia should have stayed in the new Big East.
They can't compete in the Big 12 now and will struggle to win more than two Conference games a year moving forward.
Oliver Luck did them wrong. He has to be the most incompetent AD of all AQ schools, but then again he did get his degree from wvu so they had to know they weren't getting an intellectual.

A lot of people say the same about our move to the SEC. If you factor in a Big XII payout that is about TWICE what the Big East payout is, the move is a no-brainer. Will WVU compete for conference championships like they do now? Probably not. I see them a lot like Mizzou was where there is an outside chance of finding a down year for UT/OU and taking it down. Like our move to the SEC, I look at the extra revenue as something that could enable their program to compete better down the road. The difference is the revenue inequality in the Big XII.

The problem is that if OU and UT leave, they are going to take TT and OSU with them (in all likelihood).
If this happens, I hope the remainder would raid the Big East for other teams so the midwest teams would stay together and WV would have some closer opponents.
