Sounds like your SEC-W opponents are going to be aTm and Ole Miss. aTm is probably a toss-up, unless you guys know something different. But the SEC-E is in shambles right now. Kentucky and Vandy are Kentucky and Vandy. Tennessee is in absolute shambles and Florida seems to be lost out at sea right now--no sense of direction. Only stable teams in the division seem to be Georgia and Carolina.

Im waiting to see the home/away, but agree that if MU pulled ATM/OlMiss from the West combined with the current state of the East, damn did we ever luck out.
Could come down to your team, Mizzou and UGA next season for the East.
Vandy worries me a little also, apparently they are starting to make some noise down there in Nashville.

I know we beat them two years in a row in their place including this year with a first year QB. Maybe their new coach will be better and turn them around. Billy Liucci is the TexAgs.com guy. In the same interview he said that Mizzou isn't a very exciting football pickup for the SEC and that they Aggies were a top 5 team. Given the inability of the Ags to be remotely introspective about their capability, we won't know how good the new guy is until a few conference games have gone by.
We have quite a wide range of possible outcomes next year. It depends on who leaves early, injuries and how well both lines do with a number of new starters.

Our expectation is to compete for the division title.
I don't know about "rocking it," but I do expect us to make it interesting.
Looking forward to it

To you and the guy above,
I am a UGA alumnus and fan. The sig is a sarcastic jab at all the Chicken fans. They don't really understand how conference schedules work. After we won the East, they started crowing about how they were the actual champions, since they won head-to-head and had a better division record. I don't blame them for not knowing though, they haven't had much need to in the past.

Actually, they were co-champs according to the Big XII. But the tiebreaker decides who represents the division and we won the tiebreaker. The the beaks bribed our BCS bowl out from under us.
Why call USCe "chickens"? Wouldn't "peckers" make a better double-entende?

Just remember, Florida had a top 10 defense nationally this year and I wouldn't count on them being down long. Florida has as much ability to attract top players as any team in America. South Carolina and Georgia are both 10 win teams. I'm not saying that Mizzou can't compete, I'm just saying I wouldn't buy into the whole SEC East being down thing.

I'm somewhat skeptic and optimistic at the same time. Mizzou when playing on the court or field brings out the optimism in me. Otherwise, I'm pessimistic everything... We'll find out soon enough I suppose. :)

well, yes, "peckers" or "cocks" (as in Game Cocks)would be better but our genteel women folk in the South might be offended by the use of such language. So we reserve those references for boys-nights-out.

But chickens peck, right? Even Victorian England hid dirty meanings behind words that could arguably be less dirty. Certainly the women of the South are not more genteel than the prude Victorians!
I offer exhibit A. Now I personally love this sign and would like to help the genteel young woman find what she is looking for - and by that I mean that I'd like to introduce her to Dick Vitale.

UT has definitely had a rough past few years and this was probably the worst (losing to Kentucky is horrible), but when your two deep has 16 redshirt or true freshmen it is going to be a difficult road especially in the SEC. Coupled with losing players either due to disciplinary action (Janzen Jackson-starting safety) or injury (Justin Hunter-starting WR, Tyler Bray-starting QB, Herman Lathers-starting LB, Brent Brewer-other staring safety, and tons of DBs) it gets worse.
We are actually facing a difficult recruiting quandary this year since we are finally at the scholarship limit of 85 players when we sign 25 players. We only had ~13 seniors this year and only 2 of them were starters and another 3-4 were actual contributors so we are a young team so the next 2 years are going to be very interesting. I am by no means saying that we win the National Championship or even the SEC East, but we will be much more competitive than the past few years especially if our recruiting turns out as well as it is looking right now. I don

When I think about the chickens'/peckers' coach, the word "prick" trumps everything else.

Calling them the Chickens has pisses them off the most so.. It's the favorite thing to call them. Just wait, after a few games with them, Flori-duh and a few other schools whose fans are annoying as hell (see arrogance, Alabama) and you will have a whole new lexicon of terms to sling around.
Also, early reports is we open at Mizzou. Stay in St. Louis and maybe see a ball game too or stay in Columbia. And I understand love of one's alma mater, so please try to give me objective reasoning for the choice. Thanks.

I live in St. Louis, in fact a few blocks away from Busch.
If you've never been to a cards game, its certainly worth the trip.
I will preface this as saying, however, that if the football game saturday is early afternoon (or earlier), the 2 hour drive from St. Louis to Columbia can be a bitch. Bumper to bumper on a 4 lane (2 each way) with people slamming on their brakes, and going around 50 the whole way. It's a shitty experience. So keep that in mind.
If it's an evening game, head to the cards game and head down early saturday to get a taste of Columbia. It's the consummate midwestern college town which most people enjoy. Take in the tailgating and game and spend the night and head back sunday.
Just my thoughts...
If you have more specific questions I'll be happy to oblige

I think USCe annoys us more. :P Calling us Chickens is a bit over played. I mean, we eat our own mascot at tailgating for crying out loud! As for annoying fans, don't act like the Jawja puppies are the classiest bunch out there... I think if you took a poll for everyone in the SEC East, Georgia would be at the top as the most hated fans. :P

I think it depends more on you than anything else. If you are a college student or still have a chance chasing college-aged women, then it's Columbia, hands-down.
St. Louis offers the Cards, casinos (St. Vegas?), and pretty much everything else you would expect from a major city. The drive in to Columbia isn't that bad unless you wait until near game time, but 11:00 a.m. kickoffs totally suck.
No matter what you do, you have to get some pizza at Shakespere's when you are in town and its always nice to take a walk through campus.

With the horseshoe UGA has up their a$$ with the league office in the way of scheduling, SC can beat you 6 years in a row and it won't matter. The only reason UGA was in Atlanta this year is because we got to play the 3rd ranked team in the nation in Arkansas, while UGA got to play the almighty Ole Miss Rebels. What a laugher.
Now, look at the upcoming SEC schedule. Latte da, UGA gets Ole Miss and Auburn from the West, while SC gets LSU and Arkansas. SC will run the table in the east AGAIN, and still probably not end up in the SEC Championship game due to the way the league throws UGA a bone each year. Every team has an exceptionally tough conference schedule except UGA and Vandy.
So tell me dawg fan, if you can pick two teams from the SEC West to play, would it be Ole Miss and Auburn, or LSU/Ark? That's what I thought.
