Actually, it's our 3rd.

We did it to the evil Longhorns who ruined the Big 8. We played them right after Slive came to town to announce our invite - great timing.

We also did it to our (possibly former) archrival, kansas. It was kind of a F-you we are moving on to better things. Sorry you are afraid to play us chant, but encapsulated by just saying "SEC-SEC-SEC". I know the kansas one made it on TV.

Congrats on winning your B12 bowl and helping the B12 conference's bowl count! The B12 is now 5-1 in bowl games. Missouri, Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, and now A&M have wins. So far the conference's lone bowl loss is Iowa State. K-State and Okie State are yet to play.

Mizzou is in the B12, played a B12 schedule, and played in a B12 bowl, so the SEC chants were childish, inappropriate, immature, petty...and typical.

Purplefamily, in case you missed it, we are leaving the Big XII for the SEC next year. Technically we are still in the Big XII until July, but our hearts were in the SEC before it was ever announced.

I don't know why so many of the fans of the Big leftover (The Big XXII - 4 departing members excluding OU, UT and new joiners) have such a hard-on for putting down MU. Is it because we did something you were unable to do? Is it because you KNOW we are right about the long-term viability of the Big XII as a conference?

Or are you ignoring the facts to buy into the Texas party line that Mizzou started the realignment thing? (Ironic that we are considered both insignificant and also unilaterally capable of changing the whole landscape of college football.)

If you really just dilike us and want us gone, why do you spend time here? Thank you for showing how much you really care.

Gee, no we hadn't missed that MU's leaving for the SEC, especially since Mizzou fans have been trolling everyone's boards strutting MU's and the SEC's supposed superiority, trashing the B12, and all the while demanding validation. And the rest of the conference has been unhappy because Mizzou posters have been acting like complete asshats, as bad as the Nubbs.

Personally, I think MU did a huge disservice to their fans in favor of $$. All the MU fans & alums who've loyally followed their teams to road games for decades got screwed over. What used to be a do-able & affordable day trip to tailgate & attend games with friends is gone. I know a number of MU friends who are major unhappy and some are not renewing long-held season tickets. A lot of MU fans enjoyed the friendly rivalries with neighbor schools and now feel that they'll merely have a whole season of non-cons; gmes vs. schools they don't care about and have nothing in common.

Enjoy your new neighborhood, but I think you'll find that the grass really isn't greener and there'll be regrets. And BTW, the B12 is looking fine; probably better than before with the new additions and without the whiners and malcontents.

Purple, let me just net this out for you

- We're going to a better place
- If you are happy for us, we appreciate the sentiment. If you are mad at us, we don't care.
- No fan base in all of college football will be unified about a move to another conference. But the vast majority of MU fans desperately wanted the SEC and we are pumped about our new schedule.
- Most MU fans don't wish for bad outcomes for the Big XII. We just think it's a lot more likely to have a bad outcome than we are willing to bet the future of our program on. I'm not sure why you have a hard time with that distinction. It's likely that you will all be OK, but I would put it at 70% chance of lasting more than 5 years. If the realignment rodeo starts again next year, MU fans can follow the story from safety.

So having said all that, I'm not sure why you are here.

- Do you want us to feel bad about where we ended up? Not going to happen.
- Do you want to vent your frustrations about us leaving you behind? Go ahead. It wasn't personal. We weren't plotting how we could screw KSU
- Is it some sort of warning about what is to come? I'm positive that our administration and coaching staffs put more time into thinking about this than you have. They seem to have reached the same conclusion that CU, NU and A&M did. (BTW, MU could have gone the the B1G before NU did. We didn't accept the deal that NU took because of the cost of buyouts and impact on competitiveness. You can call us malcontents, but we were content to stay at the time.)

BTW, Kansas City is now an SEC town, but we're happy to let the Big XII visit and spend money in our state for the basketball tournament when the guys with big hats let you hold it nearby.

First of all, the Independence Bowl is no longer a Big XII bowl game. I'm not surprised you missed that. Second, the first time an SEC chant broke out was at K State where your fans chanted it to taunt ours. Were those childish, inappropriate, immature and petty? Third, you talk about road trips no longer being day trips. Get back to me the first trip you make to West Virginia.
We get it. You hate us for the move when you hayseeds have no where to go without hitching yourselves to kansas. Unfortunately for you, they're already attempting their exit strategy.
