I am confused. A&M is going to the SEC to get away from Texas because you all think we are the "evil empire", but then you want to play us in sports? You guys are so damn bipolar!

You all are like a crazy woman who wants to divorce her husband, marry what you think is the "hunk" but you want to sneak back and have a "booty" call once a year.

You all had every chance to keep the series between Texad and A&M going, but you all decided that the SEC was where A&M needed to be.

Who here said we want to play you? Don't be bringing that dumb chit over here, GHG. Byrne is doing this to make sure everyone knows the rivalry won't continue because of tu. Plus, we're not leaving necessarily because we don't want to play you anymore...we just don't want to be in the same conference with you. If that means your President and AD gets snot nose and refuses to play us, then so be it...and whah whah whah.

Chile, if you don't want to play us, then why make public statements? Why make comments that you will play Texas any time, any place?

Let's play on Sunday, the day after A&M plays LSU and Texas has a bye week, in Austin, every year. Does that work for you all? By the way, the game will be broadcasted on The Longhorn Network.

Your AD came out long before A&M to SEC was OFFICIAL, saying tu would not play us as a non-conference opponent if we left. SNOT. NOSE. WUSS!

We are running away from this shit conference that Dodds and Beebe created and towards the best football conference in the country.

We aren't afraid to play you in any sport, but whatever.

Georgia Tech left the SEC. Georgia has continued to play the Yellow Jackets to preserve a long standing rivalry.

South Carolina left the ACC. Clemson has continued to play the Cocks to preserve a long standing rivalry.

Florida State declined an invitation to join the SEC, opting instead to hook up with the ACC. Yet, they have continued to schedule an annual game.

Precedent and the preservation of one of the oldest rivalries in college football should have been reason enough to make every effort to continue the annual Thanksgiving game.

As difficult as it is for you to admit, in your heart you know your AD's behavior is petty and vindictive. But at the end of the day, A&M will be better off not playing a top tier OOC game late in the season. Their SEC schedule will be enough of a challenge.

A&M is not leaving the BIG 12 because it doesn't want to play Texas.

If Texas weren't all butt hurt, feeling like a jilted girlfriend, they'd play A&M.

Just because you break up with a girl doesn't mean you can't be friends.

Screw tu. I kinda like the thought of blowing them out at Kyle and saying "FU sips, have a nice life" thus leaving them with the sting of losing their final meeting with us and 4 of the final 6. That's going to leave a huge mark. 3dGrin

Not really Chile. No one expects Texas to win the game. However...Think what kind of mark it will leave with the Aggies if you all get beat by Texas, at home. Now, that will leave a mark.

Oh, so Texas is tired of getting "pounded" by A&M and is using this as a convenient excuse to, "get out from under" A&M.

Do some research Hambone BEFORE you open your mouth or type.

The overall series record is 68-37-5 in favor of Texas.

A&M won last year.

Texas won the last 2 out of 3

A&M won the last 3 out of 5

Texas won the last 8 out of 11.

Since 1970, the series is almost even at 22-19 in favor of Texas.

It has been a good series over the past 40 years.

Quit trying to stir shit up when there is nothing to stir up. However, when your school's winning percentage against Texas is just 28%, I understand that could be frustrating.

Why aren't the Aggies keeping their annual rivalry game with Baylor alive? Hell, this series has been played 102 times (including this year) which is just 8 years short of the rivalry game with Texas.

Why is it that Aggies will throw Texas under the bus for not wanting to keep the rivalry going, yet the Aggies are doing anything to keep the Battle of the Brazos going after this year.

You all could turn this into your new Thanksgiving Day game.

Hypocrites.

You are getting kind of desperate now.

There is an obvious difference between dropping a rivalry between the two flagship public universities and dropping a game between a flagship public university and a smallish denominational college.

Still one of the oldest rivalries in college football and in Texas.

Main problem is that when A&M left, that opened up on slot for a game with Texas. If TCU hadn't joined the conference, then maybe the Texas and A&M game would have continued. However, when TCU came in, it filled the void on the schedule that A&M left when they decided to move to the SEC.

After 2018, who knows. But until then, our OOC schedule is full and TCU filled the void that A&M left when they left the Big XII.

What is funny is that people think Texas should crap on one of its other OOC teams just to make room for A&M when it is A&M that decided to leave.

So if we can't fit A&M in we are the big, bad cowards, but if we drop one of the other OOC schools from our schedule, we are still the big, bad coward.

TCU took your spot when you all left for the SEC and TCU came in to the Big XII.

So, who should Texas screw over in it's OOC scheduling through 2017-2018 just to accomidate Texas A&M?

Something isn't quite the same here with these schools as with A&M... Hmmm, what could it be? Oh yea. Each of those schools was independent at one point. In other words, they didn't have to schedule conference and non-conference games.

In other words, since they were independent, they had multiple openings and needed multiple schools to be scheduled which allowed them to keep those rivalries in tact.

Texas has 9 conference games and 3 OOC games. Our OOC schedule has been booked up long before A&M decided to go to the SEC. When A&M leaves, that leaves one game on Texas' schedule open. That slot has now been filled with TCU since they are joining the conference.

In order to accomidate A&M, Texas would have to cancel one of it's OOC games it has scheduled each year through the 2017-2018 season.

GHG and ut....what's the problem with playing A&M? Afraid of an "L" for the season? Most SEC teams play their rival OOC opponents every year! It's a tradition!

Who do you suggest that we cancel a contract with since we are slated to play 9 conference games, TCU replaces A&M, and our 3 OOC games are already under contract and scheduled through 2017 - 2018? Is A&M prepared to repay any fees that Texas may incur due to breaking a contract since most contracts have a buy out clause? What kind of message does that give to other schools that might want to schedule OOC games with Texas when they know Texas may cancel on them?

Tradition? That's rich. Once upon a time, the was a tradition of Texas and A&M being in the same conference but obviously that tradition wasn't important to A&M or the SEC.

Just saying...since you brought up tradition.

Funny how there was talk around tu when it looked like OU was going to bolt for the Pac, tu wanted to keep the rivalry game. Seems that tu wasn't bashful about dropping one of their OOC games/contract to make room for OU.

How dare you Aggies become independent and think for yourselves.

Don't you know. You are supposed to hit your knees five times a day an kowtow to the great Austin in the west.

Shame, shame, shame on you.

Texas' reaction to your move to the SEC is one of the most gutless things I've ever witnessed in college athletics.

You don't need to be in the same conference to play that game and it has a rich tradition. Simply put, you can no longer be controlled by Texas, thus, UT won't play you.

Again, shame on you all. Shame, shame, shame.

Since TCU has replaced A&M, who should Texas break it's contract with and is A&M willing to pay the fees since they would be the beneficiary of this?

Still waiting on an answer.

GHG....your constant arguments are laughable...until next year when TU and OU search out to leave again. Then I guess, your arguments aren't important.

The Big12-3 is a mess, and you know it. You're trying to hold it together with "a lick and a promise" short term.

We've gone to great length to assure a spot for the game.

In fact, President Loftin and Slive have made sure a spot on Thanksgiving Day was open specifically for the pussies in austin namely dodds and powers.

There are at least four weeks available to play the game. Unless Rice is more important. Lol.

FSU and Florida play.

South Carolina and Clemson play.

Georgia and Georgia Tech play.

All of these are non-conference games.

I would like to see the game played. I know a lot of other longhorns who would like to see the game played.

It's purely sour grapes. That, or like I said above, it's the pussification of the entire school by dodds and powers.

But more importantly, there are bigger fish to fry. Hello, SEC.......

Chile,

Be honest with yourself dude!!! Your school can do nothing to the Texas program to leave a mark. Ask any neutral fan or pull any stat since the big 12 was created and spin the stat your direction 20 times and it will say nothing but pure Longhorn domination. Just like OU killed their rivalry with Nebraska we put the rivalry to bed with ATM! As a matter of fact the aggies are not even the best football team leaving the conference! That would be MIZZou because they can at least make it to the big 12 title game. Texas and OU is the only big rivalry in this confrence and as long as that game stays intact we could care less about playing you guys every year. TCU presents a much greater challenge. Your program is not even better than Oklahoma's sister Oklahoma State. This is all about your prograsm being jealous over Longhorn domination,Longhorn championships and BCS bowl wins, and most importantly the 300 million contract that ESPN gave to the best university in the world athletically! Game over little menuzi

upinyahrnstyle,
I hope you t.u guys pump out some better lawyers than ESPN can hire, because when its apparent that ESPN will lose money on the LHN deal, ESPN will try to weasle out. You longhorns may not be able to cash that 300 million dollar check in its entirety. In fact, I will predict that ESPN will try to renegotiate that deal in less then 3 years.

That is the aggie problem they keep predicting success or critism to Texas and it backfires and just pissses all of you aggies off. No ifs ans or buts about it. West Virginia fans came to our board yesterday all class saying it was a privledge to be in aconfrence with the best school in the nation. You should learn from them. Do you fans say that to Florida or Alabama?
