we got a similar situation going on in Athens...I agree with your idea of punishment on this one.

tough call for Muschamp, as the girlfriend will likely choose not to cooperate with the D.A.'s office as the case moves forward (at least that's the typical pattern for these kind of cases)...

Gainesville Sun reporting this is the 10th overall arrest for Muschamp...given that everybody always rags on Meyer for "his" arrest count, it would be interesting to see the comparison for Muschamp and Meyer over the same period of time...

If she really has the injuries noted in the PC affidavit then the SAO doesn't need her. That doesn't mean Leonard will get prosecuted though. Someone the other day asked me in a client conference if I was as good of a lawyer as Huntley Johnson. I laughed out loud and told the man that he could get the deals for football players that Huntley Johnson gets them. If there is some way to not prosecute Leonard then the SAO here in town will find it.

Muschamp has kicked three of them off the team.

Wonder if Meyer kicked 30% of the ones arrested him off the team?

Rivals is saying 9th overall and only the second that does not involve underage drinking or misdemeanor pot.

Would also like to see infractions of Meyer recruits vs Champ recruits. With the EE's, more than half of the players on this team are Champ's.

Assuming the legal system doesn't take the bat out of Muschamp's hands, it's my guess the kid will probably sit for a few games. Muschamp might boot him if this isn't the first time the guy has been in trouble (a la Janoris Jenkins), but if this is the guy's first offense, kicking him off the team seems a bit harsh for a scrap on one arm and a small bruise on the other.

Mario Pender did something in high school last year that sounded much like Leonard's incident, and we didn't hesitate to sign him up.

Glad 'Champ just suspended him until all the facts are in. If it's true, kick him off, but you don't want to jump to conclusions. Anyone can lie.

Let me first acknowledge the fact that it is extremely risky for rivals to participate in a thread of this type on any board.

However, since you have decided that you can dance across egg shells as well as joenole can, I will even reply to your post:

NOBODY has dismissed a player as valuable as Janoris Jenkins in the past 5 years. AC Leonard is not Janoris Jenkins, and thes allegations are much worse than the offenses Jenkins committed ... particularly from the perspective of people who have attended a large public university in the past 50 years.

That's because you care more about winning than anything else.

I'll pass on that thank you very much.

Hard to see how you could find something offensive to the Gators in my comments, homer. I think Muschamp took a tough stance with Jenkins, and it's my position that what Leonard did, while despicable, doesn't deserve getting booted off the team.

I'm as big as homer as their is, but if true he has to go. You can not drag a women out by her ankles and shove her down. Was looking for a big year from AC.

Care nothing about under age drinking or pot but this is over the line.

He has to go if true.

If the allegations are true then not only does he deserve to get booted off the team. He deserves to go to jail. If I was the judge in the case and the allegations were proven to be true I'd send the SOB to jail for at least 3 days and I'd make him go the moment the case was closed. None of that crap we've seen in Tallahassee so many time where the judge lets the player do his jail time after the season is over.

Where did I say that you posted something offensive?

I was simply saying that it's usually not a good idea for rival posters to even participate in threads of this type. When Noles get arrested, if a thread about the subject is even allowed to remain on the WC Football board, every Gator who posts in that thread will be banned, regardless of what they say. It's wise just to avoid sore subjects.

Given the circumstances, why do you think he was charged with only a misdemeanor?

Let me say first that it's never OK to hit a woman or even manhandle her short of stopping some other kind of violence. That said, I do see a distinction between shoving a woman down and dragging her out of the apartment for burning your chicken pot pie again and shoving a woman down and dragging her out of the apartment because she smacked him first or had lost her ish and was destroying his property.

In either circumstance it's wrong and a crime to brutalize or manhandle her but I can forgive once situation more than I can another. If she was losing it he should have just called the police but people don't always make the best choices in a situation like that especially when they're 20.

Short of a chicken pot pie scenario, I'd probably punish him, suspend him but give him a chance to earn his way back onto the team.

Homer, have you ever eaten at Metro Diner? They do chicken pot pie like you haven't seen or tasted.

Nope, never been there.

In fact, I've never ordered chicken pot pie in a restaurant ... I like the convenience of the frozen ones, when I'm cooking for myself, but if I'm eating out, my dinner is is usually coming off of a grille or out of a seafood fryer ... and if it's coming out of an oven, it better be a pizza.

When I used to live in Jville I routinely went to the Metro Diner for breakfast.

Everything there is delicious.

Metro Diner was featured in Diners Drive-ins and Dives. It is awesome. Lots of things on the menu you just won't find anywhere else.
